Hi Wally...!

Thanks for the feedback and your connection type.. Honestly - it was you, and folks like you who e-mailed me in private about your concern about the Forums speed... Since then - just as an update....

My internal net upgrade is just about complete, this site, the gallery, the uploads, the Member sites, etc. are all on their new servers;

But for all that - I *know* I'm bandwidth confined still - which I'm working on... For example - these forums alone takes almost 2,000,000 pages views a day, and the Rennlist e-mail lists now have close to 85,000 folks and sends about 14,000,000 emails a day (plus the Digests). And the Audifans site, and the GAF sites and the PCA Region sites.... Add all that together - plus the 500,000 views to the Rennlist Classifieds, the Member Websites, etc. - I know I did the right thing to upgrade the bandwidth in the next weeks...

Anyway - PLEASE do keep me posted, OK??? At the same time, please know I'm doing my best to make this the single premier site for you folks. You and the others on Rennlist don't deserve anything less...

Since the change over - seems much faster both at Home (Cable DSL) and at Work (T1).

Thanks so much for all of your hard work and dedication.

Between all of us nit wits out here sharing tips and jokes along with your net/server savvy - countless $$$ have been saved from our measly checkbooks.

Thanks for the feedback...John is still hunkered down working on the server so I just wanted to drop you a quick note of thanks for your feedback and support. All I know is that John comes in at night saying...more power...more power... :-)

I spotted this thread while having my morning coffee Monday AM and first thought the site was fast..but then slow...so before posting I felt the need to check it at work, both home and work are cable modem...at work...it wasn't much faster then at home...however...tonight...it's smoking faster then my fingers can type so whatever you are doing...Keep it up!!

Also, I'd like to point out every post to this thread has been by a "paid" member!!!

So to all those that are..."right on!"...to those that are not...when the time is right for you...send the bucks!!!

I've never really noticed any problem with speed...of course, when I am at home I am subjected to AOL's crummy dial up speeds.

-I swear they are making dial-up slower and slower in order to get people to sign up for their high speed service; no way am I paying $50 per month for something I'll rarely use! For what it is worth, I don't have cable tv for the same reason.

I'm in Brussels this month. At the internet cafe, and at the girl's apartment, Rennlist seems to work fine-keep up the good work! Whatever I can do to help...just ask. I promise to keep my clothes on for a change too.

Much faster: ~2 sec to first screen, ~1 sec to pull up a message.

This is via cable modem @ 1.5M down.
