Another driving report, spent some more time behind the wheel:
What a difference. All 3 items together and the shifting makes you think you are in a new $150k car.
Other than the rear coupler with some fore/aft play designed into it, as tight as a light switch. For anybody with a 5 speed, absolutely worth it.
Carl Fawcett front ball cup: $70 ($12 shipping)
Shorty shifter: $70
Rear coupler: $70
Result:

Hey Carl,
I saw it at Sharktoberfest and thought it was a sweet design. Hats off to you. But sadly I'd aready replaced mine late last year otherwise I'd of bought one in a heartbeat.

Two more items to add to the list.
Carl is the shifting effort less, same or more than before due to harder materials?

Shifting effort is the same, but it feels smoother with Carl's ball-cup.

My soon-to-be car has a very loose shifter, and I think the 928 Intl short shift kit. Which shift kit is everyone using? My impression of this one is that the lever is shorter but that's about it because the throw is still long. It's also somewhat difficult to find the right gear because it's loose, combined with the shifter's short-but-long throw.
So I'm guessing I'll need both front and rear cups, and I'm considering a different shift kit as well, one that truly shortens the throw. Does that sound right?

Its always a bugger to change out the shifter ball cup.
But at least, with our design, you have two benefits: 1) one of the difficult parts is snapping the new OEM ball cup down over the ball post. With ours, that's not a problem at all. 2) you have the pleasure of knowing your never going to have to do it again!

I already bought one despite that I recently change my ball cup to a new original one.
It is a great design and idea Carl came up with and i will install mine as one of my Winther projects![burnout](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/burnout.gif)
Thanks Carl for your dedication and development of parts to the 928 I love so much!

For those still undecided, I still give it 2 thumbs up. The original Porsche part is still a good piece that lasts for years, but this one seems much better, tighter and not prone to pop off and leave you stranded.

Carl, how long have you been running this part in your car? Do you see any issues with metal/metal wear or are you using unlike metals? Are they currently in stock and ready for shipment?
Anyone else installed one of these that can offer some feedback?
