Default Radio or antenna?

Does anyone have the windsheild antenna? Do they suck or does my new Blau suck? I can get plenty of stations but they fade in and out a lot. To the point where you just give up and pop in a CD.. But I only have so many CD's ya know.

Thanks

On my '85 the radio worked great with the windshield antenna. No problems at all.

On my '88 with windshield antenna, the reception is crap, but I have a feeling its not the antenna, but some other type of interference or otherwise poor stereo installation. I'm holding off any diagnostics until I get a new stereo all set to go.

Did you power the "amp" for the windshield. The small black wire attached to the antennae wire should be connected to a power source, I used the lead, ( blue in my case) that would power up an antannae motor, i.e. on with the radio and off with the radio. Ed

I get decent reception with the windshield antenna. My stereo problems are with something else - when I crank the volume, the radio or cd player cuts out.

AH! Another light bulb comes on! lol Thanks Ed now to find a consistant power wire for the radio itself.

yes the small black wire routed into the antenna lead that goes to the windshield leads to a signal multiplier for the radio so adding 12v to it when the raidio is on will make the radio work a lot better

SUCCESS!

I have tunes. I picked up this Blaupunkt Denver a couple months back off of Craigslist for $50... what a bargain. I just took the car for a test drive and actaully listened to music. WOW!

heh heh heh.... Thanks all.
