High gloss finishes require a lot of care and feeding to maintain the high gloss, so I generally opt for semi-gloss or sometimes the satin finish for parts like this. There's a lot more forgiveness in semi-gloss, in my limited experience. Semi-gloss allows you to use Pledge (the detailer's friend...) without buffing, a major plus. It's also way easier to repair if you accidentally nick or scratch the finish.
