Hi All,
I have heard many owners discuss the problem of non-cancelling signals. Mine too!!
I found out another reason why they don't cancel this week.
There are two small springs inside the signal arm assembly that pull the arm back to center once the release button engages.
On my '85, the stem that holds the spring in place to the outside (made of plastic) had broken off. This gave no spring action to the arm for returning to center. I drilled a small hole in the top of the assembly and threaded a screw down to give the spring a new base to hold on to. It has worked perfect and I now have my signals working like they should.
Just thought you would like to know.

Thanx Jay,
I have no doubt that I have many more to come. I have this great place to put tweeters in my 928. No time now but I will put up a pic of it tomorrow.
I also found those Carbon Fiber look AT shifter handles at Pep Boys for around $20.00. They look great and go on in a relative snap.
Tonight I will be rewinding my alternator
just kidding. Actually, I will be installing new odometer gear tomorrow and pulling my airpump to replace the bearing. All thanx to this wonderful place called Rennlist.
I will pass on as many pointers as I can pick up. I think someone out there should start shooting video of complicated procedures like replacing T-Belt, etc. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

Interesting fix, it encourages me to go after an annoying little problem that I have been experiencing.
Sometimes when I cancel the turn indicator (when the lights are on) it will flash the high beams. I am curious if others have seen this symptom?
