My dad has just started this job using a 928 Specialists kit. He has asked me to find out the best way to remove the old adhesive. Any help gratefully received.

Under the leather cover is a rubber wheel. Anything that will remove the glue, usually contact adhesive, will work. Goof Off, alcohol, mineral spirits, etc. Even WD-40 works to remove most adhesives.
