Default Frenzy 11

Great weather.
Great folks.
Great cars.

That pretty much sums up the 11th annual 928 Frenzy that took place today in Dulles, Virginia.

Here are some photos taken during the schmoozing and technical gathering at Funktion Auto this afternoon:

Thanks for making this another great event guys and gals!

I had a blast and I want to thank Steve and Greg for doing all of the leg work. I met a LOT of new faces this year including Larry and Nancy G, Jason, Mike, Dan, Mike, Ann, Mike, Eric, Pam and Donald just to name a few. The list could go on for a while. I think that about 1/2 of the events attendees were new faces to me. But then again I didn't quite catch everyone last year.

John V, Tom F, The "Roberts" and Walid!! To everyone thanks for helping yet again to make this a great event.

At the Oscars they cut ya off at this point so on to more pics!

Happy birthday James!!

And last but not least Thor entertaining some of the "other group" of attendees

Michael

WOW..looks like you guys had excellent weather...folks wearing shorts this time of year over there huh?! VERY nice looking cars at a great location as it seems.

John, your race car looks fantastic! Too nice to race

Thanks for posting Greg.

Congrats to the organizers for putting on what looks to be a first class event.

What a fantastic day! Always great to put faces to names, but even better to see some of these folks absolutely amazing rides. Many were truly inspiring; I have a new laundry list of "to-dos" for my car before the next show; simply outstanding examples of 928s everywhere.

Recommendation for next year: best in show voting, divided into years, stock vs. modified, and best overall.

Default Thanks for spreading the fever

If it weren't for Wayne/Sharky stopping in the parking lot at the hotel, then the warm reception from all of you enthusiasts, I probably would not have caught the fever so quickly -- thanks to you, I joined both rennlist and 928oc yesterday. Sorry to have missed out on what looks like a great Frenzy, but I look forward to seeing everyone at a future event.

Best,
Eric / Sharkdad

For those that missed the parking lot commotion, Wayne/Wayne accosted this poor family and their cute little girl in the parking lot of Frenzy central. Eric and family were just visiting friends/family in our hotel and ran into all these 928's in the parking lot.
According the Wayne, Eric had bought his 91 about 2 months ago and had barely seen another 928 in the flesh.
And there he goes stumbling into 928 heaven.
The poor family was held hostage with 928 talk till nearly 11pm. The poor little girl was a champ and took it all in stride. She told me she likes Porsches.

Welcome Eric.

Great event, and it was good to see some new (to me) 928 faces.
The usual suspects: Dave Chamberland, Rick N, Wayne Griffith+wife Robin, Wayne Giraud and Margarita, Glen Minucci, Glen McCartney, John Cho, John Veninger, Dave and Jeannie + Pam, Jerome Craig, Mike (black '89 S4), Tom Falkenberg+family, John Eiffert, Don Taylor, Matt, Ernest Wong, Rixter, Ann MacArthur, AJ (murph S4), Earl Gillstrom, Bill Sanders, Bob, Larry Gunter, Beerfish, JP, Steve Yohai, Samantha, Greg N, Michaelathome, Cha, Terry, Panzer9, and many others.

Jerome led us on a most excellent fun drive through many of the best local roads, something missing from other Frenzys.

Kevin from Autobahn Ambition wanted some cool 928 pics, so he took 6 of our cars out to a local golf course for some shots to be in a future issue. Mine was one of them, and was looking as black and shiny as ever.

I traveled down with Rick3452 and Dave C and we had a smooth trip back as well. Great routing around known bad traffic between Boston and DC. We cruised at 80.

I got Funktion Auto to break out the scales to check corner balance on my car, and it was 49.9%/50.1%. I have wanted to do that for a while, and it just proves that having your threaded collars even side to side is pretty good.

I also raised a beer to toast to our departed friend Scott Mohr. Half the reason for my going was to raise a pint to Scott. Most people were too bummed to say much; he will be missed by all.

I won't miss a Frenzy or SITM, and neither should you. That may be the only time you can see some of your friends. Great stuff, and great friends.
Carl

Hey it was great seeing everyone. A few new local guys and another few locals we only see at Frenzy. I encourage all of you to watch out for announcements for our local 928 and Porsche gatherings - even after you've met us.

Next Week: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/375187-md-va-mid-atlantic-gtg-summit-point-club-race-oct-5-7th-928-a.html

Special thanks to Steve88 for putting this thing together with the help of Michaelathome (last years Fenzy organizer). And Jerome who led us out to the middle of nowhere and said, "Hah, time to find your own way home." Regardless of whether we were on the correct route, it was a beautiful day for a drive - no need for waypoints. And I don't know who all of the other "behind the scenes" people are but I know Mr. Greg Nichols is one of them.

And all of the folks from out of town. DR, Jeannie, and Pam from 928 Specialists - thanks for your support. Guys from Boston, PA, and NY, surprise from AJ, and everyone else. Oh, and John Veninger, who I guess couldn't drive as fast as the rest of us because he had to tow a car on the way down.

Bitter sweet weekend because all didn't make it. But all were remembered.

Looks like a great time was had by all! Some sweet looking sharks and familiar faces. Have to make it a point to have my car ready before events like this.

That "rest stop" appears to be Greystone GC, which is in northern Bal'mer County (about 30 minutes straight north of me on I-83).

And that's me in the second picture.

Eric, I was saying Britax "Marathon" on friday night, it is a Britax "Roundabout"

I had it in the back seat on Sat waiting for you and your family to show up so that you could see. Its' a perfect fit. Also I am still interested in that Recaro if you don't need it cause I sure could.

I'll try to find the pics, I know that I have posted them of the seat both forward and rear facing in the car.

Michael
