The engine was built by Peter Baumann in Brüttisellen, Switzerland.
According to Rallye Racing magazine, the K-Jetronic injection does not inject into the intake manifold, but into the bridge between the two compressors. They were talking about getting 100HP/Liter out of the engine before it would be offered to customers - maybe Abby got a ride in a car with a later engine than the one tested by the magazine.
In any case, I think the car has historic significance, and should be restored and preserved in it's original (Strosek) condition. I think it is important to photo document the restauration process in detail. This will add to the history of the car and preserve, if not increase, it's value.
This is the kind of story we'd like to read in the new 928 magazine...

Great idea !!!
I'm sure Adam Birnbaum would be VERY interested in running a feature on this car in the "928 Forum" magazine. I'll bet it would make the cover!

PS
I noticed something called 928 Frenzy in Sept-Oct outside of DC. Maybe I should bring the car there this year and then again next year for a public before and after!!!!

Arthur,
It would be a very interesting car and engine to see at Frenzy 6 even if it is heavily damaged. I think you will find that there will be many people attending who could offer some good advise on it's restoration. Philadelphia is not too far from D.C. to bring it on a flatbed.

Hello All,
Thank you ALL again so much for your help with my Strosek 928. It is now official I have decided to restore the car to its original Strosek specification. I'm going to make a genuine effort to ask Strosek to do the car and with the exception of some minor improvements such as modern electronics/fuel injection and suspension/brake work (including the "riiged" truss bar in the engine bay) the car will be exactlly as it graced both on the Geneva show stand and the September 1986 cover of Road & Track! (Thanks Paul)
As for the car in the meantime I would very much like to share the whole process with anyone who thinks they may wish to help or simply observe the efforts of those willing to help. In short I think Nicole had a very good Idea to document the cars History and Im happy to say future.
I have been sent many E-mails, photo's, and requests/suggestions to put the car in a 928 magazine? and or the 928 Frenzy car show outside of D.C.
I however are VERY COMPUTER ILLITERATE and do not know how to set up some sort of file where everyone can send their efforts ideas etc. to for us all to enjoy. Ideally I think it would be great if there was a place on rennlist where we could send all past, present, and future info to about the car. I really think this could be cool Every one involved could feel as though they had a part of the car as there own. If it were not for all of you the car would continue to sit in my wherehouse with me not even knowing how special it was or even worse being turned into some s4 bumbered bright yellow disaster!
Maybe we could set up a file account on rennlist for people to send the info to, then I would present the car down at the 928 Frency wrecked for all to see and add further comment or interest to before we as a team send the car of to Strosek.
What do you guys & Nicole think?

Arthur,
As a rennlist member you are given a free website as part of your membership. It's a very simple process to start a simple website where you can post pictures. Anyone with a computer can do it using John Dunkles simple instructions. Go to Http://members.rennlist.com to register and you will find instructions there.
