has anyone thought about eliminating the ac system from there 928? im sure that would increase power a tiny bit and provide more room for airflow. where i live i dont really need it anyways and kinda seems pointless for me to have. would anyone be interested in buying it if i decided to pull it off?

a: not rare or expensive if you know where to go to get them
b: and they aren't that hard to install, can all be done with the engine in the car

It will gain you as much power as not using it does. It doesn't in any other way really interfere with anything - maybe a negligible amount of drag from the drive belt. Imo000 should now pop up with the link to his DIY supercharging links where he uses the space that compressor was in to mount the blower. That's about the only advantage I can think of for getting rid of it. That and you don't have to fix it, but you could just leave it in place to accomplish that.

The only thing you can really sell off it is the compressor anyway, you might be able to get a couple hundred for it, if it's in good shape. Not to be a pessimist, but if this is a bit of a project car at this point, there's a good chance the A/C ain't working anyway.

Wait till next July, you might want the AC! Unless you want to use the space freed up by removal of the AC compressor (to install an supercharger see my signature link), keep in functional. Maybe you date will like to have AC and you will have no gain by removing it.

Well, I just arrived home from a test drive after "fixing" a few things on my car.

Burning the tires in 3rd gear on the highway.......why do I need a 32V or a EuroS again? I'm confused.

Looks like my issue might be resolved. We will see tomorrow.

Hi Rixter,

A) What have you got in stock and how much $?

B) Well, we don't know the newbie's level of wrenching skillz so I bid low.

He did just post that he likes complicated German cars - I think he's a keeper!

The most cost effective power adder is Moon Juice. Its a top secret formula developed by the worlds leading Lebanese scientists. Do a search and you will see what I mean. Moon Juice is not the official name but it is the name we have given it to keep the feds from finding out about it and shutting down our supply. A fella' in the UK used it recently and had a GPS verified top speed of 205 mph.

Warning* DO NOT use two cans. This is powerfull stuff.
