An extra vacume line.

OK, I've got an extra, pluged vacume line that I can't figure out where it goes.
There is an extra vacume port on the frount passanger's side of the throtal body.
There is one with a red cap, that I know is suppost to go to an automatic transmittion. I have a mannual.
There is another one that is pluged with a short length of rubber hose, and a screw.
I've been told that it is suppost to go to the ERG valve.
That is a problem, I can't find the egr valve on the engine, nor can I find a mounting point for it. As far as I can tell, I can't find where the darn thing is suppost to be.
There isn't a word on the issue in the emission section of the owner's mannual, and I can't find the relevent passage for a L-jet in the service mannual. I can't find it on the under the hood vacume diagram, nor any of the other vacume diagrams that I've looked at. Hum...
Any help would be appreiceated.
Thanks.
((Edited)) Oh, btw, I almost forgot. The archives seem to say that the L-jet cars don't have an EGR valve. I always thought it was federaly mandated. Course, I can't find the place where the archives says it should be mounted. Hum...

Um...
There isn't a "back side" to the ingition advance unit. There is only one nipple for the vacume lines, and it's MUCH smaller than the advance/retard kind. My neibors 79 has the advance retard kind so I know.
The 83 was the first year with an vacume advance only. It was mated to a centrifical advance. Don't ask me exactly why this is so, I'm only begining to understand the full effect of the thing.
Thanks though.

That could be why the illustration didn't show the actual line, just a note that the port was for the vacuum retard. Looks like you should just leave it plugged.

All right, intersting.
So in short, the line should remain pluged and is just a hold over from the pre-S US cars, and there is no EGR valve?
That is the best news I've received about this car yet!
Thank you.
With emission testing comeing up for the first time ever, I figured I better start makeing sure everything works, and maybe puting a cat in. I know right know I'll flunk the HC emmissions, but it's nice to know I don't need a EGR!

On my car (which I know is later) it goes to the A.I.R. diverter valve. The other one stays blanked. Which is used depends upon whether it's a Califirnia car or not. The right one is for the Calif. cars.

Dennis is right VU. The vacuum retard to my dist is blown, hence vacuum line with screw in it (was put there by PO). You can get vacuum port caps in that small size. looks better than a screw.
