Help with Electric Locks
My 1982 928's electric locks are acting up.
I'm going to try and take the doors apart this weekend, and am looking for any help.
I DO NOT yet have the service manuals.
I do have a copy of a wireing diagram for the car, but it doesn't seem to have anything on the door locks.
The driver's side lock will follow the pannager's side lock, but the passanger's side lock won't follow the drivers side.
Any clue what this would be? The fuses are all good, and SHOULD be makeing good connections.
Any suggestions?

I've been around and around with mine and still haven't gotten them right!
Mine basically lock themselves when the car is sitting in the garage. Occasionally they "cycle" a few times, especially after I unlock the door with the key.
Essentially, what is wrong in my case is adjustment. The door lock servos "communicate"- if one is partially open, it tells the other one to open as well. Since one of mine is not fully closed when the other one reaches the closed stop on its "pot", it tells the closed one that Normy must want the doors back open and they cycle away...
In your case, I would guess that the "pot" on your drivers side is not sending the open/close info to the other side. So its probably a bad door lock servo.
In my case, despite having had the door panels off about 7 times now, I still cannot get the adjustment just right. It is apparently VERY VERY sensitive. This is what you get to look forward to as well!
-Anyone who has any insight in to how to adjust this system gets major kudos from me for their help!!!

Do you have any tips on how to get the door pannals off? All I've mannaged to get off are the small pannals to the bottem rearward side of the door lock. I couldn't figure out how the rest of the pannal is attached. (I'm also going to use the occorance to reglue the carpet to the door pannal.)
My locks where working perfecty. This is kinda of frustrating. I love the power locks though, so I wanna keep 'em.
Thanks.

Greg Nichols' web site is full of great tips and simplified instructions.
I've had my door panels off more times than I care to discuss (Normy- my locks are independent thinkers, too). I have to get back in there this weekend to fix an uncooperative window lift...
Use caution when removing the swithches and be sure to mark which wires go where - make your own wiring diagram.
Have some baggies, or little boxes to hold all the hardware, and mark the container!
Good luck!
