wow those are some giant clamps. You must have $200 in clamps there.

I assume thats because its now under boost and the stock ones wont suffice?

I also like that subtle two tone on the manifold, cool!

Ryan, Thanks for the nice comments - the clamps were quite inexpensive thanks to E-Bay.

Malcolm, that trip was awesome and it was great to finally meet you and see your beautiful car.

Custom kit? Or prefab? Clean setup along with the rest of the motor.

Fantastic! That really is a professionally looking job. Now I'll have to get mine all cleaned up !

Looks like you ended up running the boost line under the SC. You see, that never occured to me. Nice to see that there is more than one way to skin a cat!

Pearl and Tampa,

The parts were mostly purchased from E-Bay. The brackets were fabbed following Imre's template.

Imre, Thanks for the kind comments. It was not that difficult an install following your instructions. My total "down days" during the install was less than 5. This was important as my car is a daily driver and is parked during winter. Every summer day I miss of driving is painful.

Did you document the install or shoot any pictures. What did the parts cost come to?

Tampa,
I followed Imre's (IMo000) DIY install. My directly related parts costs including fab costs were about $2,500.
For documentation, refer to IMo's thread and his DIY write-up. It is very well done and he helped me immensely along the way.

Thanks Malcolm - I agree - Brandon and I had an awesome time and I would love to do it again REAL SOON.

Tampa - as everyone who has installed an S/C says, it is truly a whole different car. The amount that you get set back in the seat is wild. I now pass in 4th where I used to pass in 3rd and have even more "go" to make the pass. I hit it at 20 mph in first and break loose. I have only been S/C'd for about 2 weeks so do not have lots of experience with but am having fun...
And yes, I will dyno the car. It dyno'd about 260 before the install so I am looking forward to what it will do after the install. A little more work to do yet tho before I am ready for the dyno.

Heres' what you shoud expect.

Paxton Automotive offers supercharger systems with factory settings from 5-8 pounds per square inch of boost pressure. This level of pressure typically results in a 35%-55% increase in horsepower.

I'm gussing you'll be somewhere between 360 and 375rwhp.

Pretty installation, well done.

I do not want to subvert this thread, but several of you have asked where you can get a SC kit for a 85/86. We have one here:
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/32vstage1.php

I have not been completely satisfied with the cold air intake on this model, so have re-designed so we can get more cold air to the head unit than these pictures show. I am also re-tooling to replace the Powerdyne head unit with the Raptor head unit instead.

We use the Raptor supercharger on the Ferrari kits we make and sell, and have been very impressed with them. They are made from billet instead of a casting, and they out-flow the Powerdyne.

I expect that the kit will be available to ship again within a month. We can take your deposit now if you are interested. No change in price at this time, although after the changes are in and the new cold air system is working - the kit price will likely go up.

Thank you for your interst - and again - nice job on that install!
