I installed a fuel gauge to diagnose a problem with my sharks sluggish power all around and rough starts.. I have at this time a pressure of about 28psi on my vdo gauge and have seen this drop shortly after shutting down the car.. what pressure should my car have. 28psi seems low.

Thanks for the replies.. I believe that my fuel pressure regulator may be at fault.. and yes I have experienced vapor lock at idle comming back from a frenzy last year. It seems not to be injector related as I have been on injector cleaner for the past week now and it clearly shows a low pressure on the guage.and still sluggish power..my fuel filter has been changed and is new...will let you know how it goes with the regulator replacement.

37 psig is where it should be. You can replace one of the pressure regulators (if you have two now) with a damper from a later model car, then plug the return line, this way you onle have to buy one regulator. Your car may just have on regulator, I am not sure.
