What's the heritage on the windscreens? Not the far-east wiggly-wavy sort I hope!
I guess I'm in. That is, If I can see clear to make it to Sharktoberfest!

Mark/Jim:
I am definitely in for a new windshield, there's the small matter of the wife having arranged a spa weekend for herself from 10/19 - 10/21..... For that price and convenience, though, I'll bring a kid with me and farm out the rest. Is there going to be a signup list? Any feel for approximate available times during the day(s)?
EDIT: Duh, reading comprehension. Will call the # and inquire myself....

Great idea Mark, but you really need a bigger fleet of paintless dent removal guys for SF '07!
That service works so well.
Unfortunately it looks like I'll be stuck in SD this year for some stupid wedding.

OK--
Just got off the phone with Michelle. She's gathering windshields from all over the state to cover the anticipated demand. So far though, the ones she is finding are the far-east imports. That may or may not be less-than-ideal, but folks know that factory glass costs more than some of the cars are worth in the market these days. Four have signed up already in just a few hours of exposure to Mark's generous offer, so it looks like it will be a busy day for their installers at Sharktoberfest.
At the same time, she mentioned that there may be an option to have a batch of custom US-made glass done. She's going to do a few calls to find out how many we need, set-up costs for a batch, and then the part costs. The operative phrase here is may be an option. Time may be against us with about a month to go. Her source is on the east coast where it's already after hours, so there will be no new news on this until tomorrow morning. Don't be shy about calling her to get on the list. More is better when it comes to incentivising stuff like this. Plus you don't want to miss out on the opportunity if their day gets to full or the supply chain gets too empty.

Three Wheelin'
I've put my hat in the ring for the domestic source possibility. I'm in Atlanta so it would have to be dropped shipped at additional cost but I feel it's worth it. Hopefully a bunch of us will get on the phone and request it!
