Default 928 Sighting, Wed 9/12: White S4, heading east on 520, 6:40 am.

Anyone on list?

I was in the right lane on 520 heading east in my red S4 about to exit for I405 south, when you blew by in the left lane. The S4 was looking damn good.

Two days before that, Monday on the way to work, the first time I've driven my pickup to work in months, I stopped into my usual Charbucks and spotted a nice red '84 928, auto, tan interior, chromed manholes. After checking it out a bit I met the owner Cy, nice guy. We chatted a bit and then we were on our way. Very cool, but I couldn't believe I wasn't in my S4 - my daily driver.

This is a new personal record for me, two 928's in three days. Besides 928 gatherings, since I've owned my first 928 (1.5 yrs now), before these two, I'd only seen two other 928's on the road (for a grand total of 4 shark sightings).

The two previous sightings were one in the office parking lot, a nice S4 driving by that I never saw again, and one in Oklahoma on I40 heading east while I was heading west last winter (driving home to Seattle in my S4 that I had just bought in New Jersey - cross country road trip!).

Anyway, it was fun seeing the 928's. I never see them on the road. The red '84 in the Charbucks parking lot was looking fine, and when the white S4 blew by, I was thinking, damn, these cars look freakin' awesome.

Not one comment?

Not even, a "Very cool. I rarely see them either."

Oh well....guess I'll have to make my own replies and keep this thread going between me, myself, and I.

Hi Ed,

The white S4 could have been Heinrich in Godzilla.

I see one or two a year around here in my random driving. I drove around Alki beach last Sunday and I saw a red 928 parked there. I'm not sure who it belongs to.

Come to the Park Place party next Saturday and there should be a bunch.

Even in Northern and Southern California it is extremely unusual for me to see a 928 on the road. Trying to get out of town for a fun run last Saturday, I stopped for coffee and had to spend time with a 911 jocky who always wanted a 928, then stopped for gas and had to spend more time with Tuner Type that wanted to know every thing about the 928.
It appears non-owners are just as hungry as owners to see these beauties on the road.
