Default 4 cylinder ignition problem

Rule out all possible faults before replacing the ECU is the goal. I have an ignition failure on 4 cylinders that has me suspecting ECU as the source.. The drivers side distributor is not firing but i can send the problem to the passenger side by reversing the green and white leads from the ECU. Ive gone through all the usual suspects. New caps, rotors, plug wires, ignition controller, ground connections. Fuel injectors are working fine evidenced by sending the problem to non firing cylinders by switching leads to the ignition controller (green and white leads from ECU). Is there possible fault within the relay/fuse panel that would affect the output from ECU regarding green white wires? Previous threads with similiar problem and shop manual have not revealed a solution so far. Not tested, ignition trigger, but it works with 4 cylinders, assumption is that it is go or no go for the sensor .

Is your car a 1989 or later? If so you need to look at the exhaust gas temp monitoring circuit. it's the clear double relay next to the ECU.

As you have eliminated the external coil driver amplifiers, it sounds as though the EZ-F ECU is missing one output signal....

John, definite one (white) output is not functioning. Is this typical of EZK failure, is this a repairable fault or do I need to replace the unit?
I have not tested cps leads yet. I assume they signal to the ECU where it is split to right and left engine banks. So if the engine fires at all, in this case on 4 cylinders, the cps is okay.

EZ-F don't have a standard failure mode, but there is a good chance it can be repaired.

I have plenty of spares for these units. Contact me through my website email, and we can sort something out for you.
