andrew, i think your GT would look very mean with a CF hood. i wonder if this one with the scratches could be repaired?

I won the hood on ebay today, I'll let you know how it looks installed. The scratches on the bottom wuill be covered by my heat shield. The one on top is a very light surface scratch and should buff out. I also plan on putting a pair of the CF bonnet vents that drnick used on his beautiful orange shark.

For $102 plus shipping, I hope I did alright. CF Hoods at the local ricer shop go $700-1200. Shipping looked a tad high about $15-25 more than average for CF hoods on ebay.

The scratches scared me off of that one. If I'm going to do it, I want to do it right.

Rob Bud for the hood liner. Already have another ready for the CF hood which ships out tomorrow! Should cover up the scratches under the hood. Leaving just one shallow one on top to buff out...i hope..

I'll post pics of the hood as soon as it's installed. Should look great next to my aged paint.

If you can, weigh the two hoods. I'm interrested to see how much weight savings there are with CF.

Hood arrives Monday! Shipping weight was 30# including box and packing. I'll weigh it when it gets in. Rob Budd hoodliners, with decals on the way as well.

Gonna go a little more rice than most will appreciate..I plan on installing a pair of bonnet vents like drnick did HERE however I'm going to place than all the way back over the airbox. I'm also going with a pair of kidney vents up front just infront of the cross brace where my air intakes are.
Here's the kidney vents:

And the back vents:

I have a CF Envader and did the glue corrections to bind the two pieces together better, the window sprayers are added, and hood latch.

My concern with installing it is how strong are the nuts held into the hood frame so it does not fold in half and tear off at any speed. Not until I can find a good set of hood screw downs do I feel comfortable installing the hood wart bugger.

I have locking tie downs already in CF. They're going on as well. Also got some real nice CF film, looks pretty realistic, even up close. I'm in the process of wrapping the front spoiler. Adding a splitter under as well.

Well... I managed to get one. It's the invader/envader (?) style. Pretty cool looking IMO and very light. I don't have any pics yet - I've got to finish the motor first. And, I will not pose on the hood unless paid a huge some of money!

Looks like Andre had one too... here's what it looks like

Probably not. I've got theis black/red thing going on right now that I want to explore a bit more. I've been thinking about getting the wheels powder coated black. Kind of like this...
