Perhaps Prussian Blue?
I don't know. Are you saying Prussian Blue has a purpley flipflop in it? Turns out my car, which I thought was midnight blue (nachtblau), isn't after all. We bought the midnight blue paint to repaint it and it's practically black in the can and on the car, much darker than what is on the car now. I'm trying to figure out what it actually is, and it looks an awful lot like this one.

Not really, it's more of a dark gray in some light.

J,

I'll be honest, after following your progress for a year, I thought that with a thread called 'I'm done' it was going to go in a totally different direction.

Again, great job.

My 79 original color ( blue) had a kind of purple hue to it in certain light. I think the color code was 304.

There's been a serious difference between your car and mine. You've been able to drive yours for the past year. I haven't. That drastically changes the way you can work on it. Whereas I took mine apart and stuffed in boxes, on shelves, or wherever space would allow, you can only take apart what you can put back together so you can drive it the following day.

I'm going to do my best to make up to New Jersey this weekend, if anything, as a final shakedown. And I'll definitely be at shark frenzy 11 in a couple of weeks.

Venetian Blue Metallic does take on different looks in various lighting conditions but can't I say I've noticed any purple there in the mix.

What is the color code for your car? Is the factory color listed on the inside of the car's door jamb? It should be there if it is factory paint.

I've come to be a big fan of the blue (& green) 928s, the colors are very dynamic and unique!

According to the tag, the car was originally Grand Prix white. The stupid PO had her listed as Schieferblau when he was selling, which is what we were specifically looking for at the time, and what she most definitely is not. Various parts of her, over the years, have evidently been grey, blue, white, red, yellow and black. That we know of. Hey, she's not called Twister for no reason! She has been pieced together in a major way, possibly as many as 3 different cars in there, based on the frame welds The Guy has found here and there.

I doubt there is a single original body part left on her. I know for a fact that the hatch and hood came from 928 International, prior to my owning it. So, it's some sort of dark blue, as you can see in my avatar, and I really like it. I just don't know wtf it is! But clearly, going with the color it currently is will make repainting much easier than going with the nearly black Nachtblau we bought.

Sooooo, anyone want to buy a gallon of Nachtblau?

It's probably dunkelblau, which is what mine was originally.
