Got there just in time to eat some pizza last night. Mike (Killa V) and Sean and Angela had most of the job done by the time I got there. Sean had the audacity to ask my help resnapping the barrel connectors closed for the brake sensors. I almost did it but realized I hadn't eaten my pizza yet and my hands would have gotten dirty. Instead, I just told him that if he couldn't get them snapped closed, then something wasn't lined up right or plugged in right. So I just stupid-vised and ate pizza with clean hands. When Mike and I left, we estimated that Sean/Angela had maybe 1-2 hours of work left.

And yes, I checked. Angela's hands will fit around a wrench!

Yes my hands fit around a wrench, I just don't tend to pick one up very often! Sean had almost everything done.........I think he's going to finish up this afternoon with a little help from Roger, my favorite Englishman!

HUGE thanks to Mike for working on my car!

I also left one other thing off my list. Don't forget to tighten the shock tower bolts (6) inside the hatch area.

You guys are welcome. Just paying it forward.....or back in Sean's case. For those that don't know, he helped me on my TT swap for hours and didn't even know me.

Great news. Now, keep the keys away from you-know-who.

Bringing this back up so I don't have to add another thread.

After the reinstall and all of that, I have what appears to be, brake fluid spotting the floor. Now a simple leak would not require a new post, typically.

Here is the weird thing. I fully expected that the line from the PSD unit to the transmission was the culprit, that it was not as snug as it should be so I decided after a month or so of drops that I would tighten it up.

That is a no go. Line is tight and dry, all of the connection points for the PSD are dry, from the tank to the soloniod that is above the right CV joint. Now, what has me perplexed is as I had it up in the air, all wiped down pretty, and walked away for a bit. I come back about 30 minutes later and there is a nice drop of clear liquid on the floor. I follow the trajectory up to the car and there is a nice, DRY battery box. I see no fluid ANYWHERE. I can't find any place that is leaking so unless the fluid is actually coming from under my garage floor, I have no ideas.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Make a plumb bob and it should reveal the source.

Good lord,

I actually googled "plumb bob" to see what you were talking about. I went so far as to use a straight edge to follow the the drop and it was at the bottom of the battery box, which was clean.

Sterling, don't know if I need it, but spare parts are always good. Thanks bud.

I recleaned everything, set her back on the floor and am going to look in the morning to see. The only fluid leak I see is some tranny fluid from the overfill cap and we all know that stuff isn't clear.

I love these cars, with my attention span, they keep me geared at different areas that need attention. I always have something to do.

One drop of older tranny fluid can appear clear but if it does it's time to change it.

Sean here on Ang's laptop.

When we pulled the tranny out all the fluids were changed. I didn't pull the TC but according to records the thing was done 8 months ago. The only fluids that I see dripping is the occastional red ATF drop. I even went as far as to check my brake bleed job thinking maybe I didn't get a tit tightened enough and it might be spraying somewhere.

I found another drip hanging off the bottom of the diff so again, I looked at the WSM and where the lines go. I'm positive this is PSD fluid. The solinoid above the passenger CV, the line crosses the diff and connects on the drivers side. Then goes to the rear wall for another connection, which goes to the PSD hydralic unit. All good.

Can a PSD leak from the inside of the transmission/clutches area? If so, wouldn't that mix with the ATF? The PSD works fine.

Something as simple as this should be a seal, connection, clamp.

There should be no way the fluid in PSD could comingle with tranny fluid. I've never added fluid to a PSD. Is it possible to attach a power bleeder? If so, with some high powered lighting under the rear end you should be able to find the culprit.
