Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

Things have progressed very well until we got to dropping the transmission and someone said something about LSD?
Neither Mike or I have dropped a trans with LSD and we are not exactly comfortable w/o some advice.
Hey Ang, now is the time to decide if you want an X-Pipe put on.

You mean PSD? You should not have to drop the transmission. If all is loose it should move back far enough to get the torque tube off.
As for the PSD , damned if I know. But seriously it should be just the actuating cylinder that has to be removed if at all.
Someone with newer experience may want to correct me.

Glad to hear everything is apart...........and that apparently there's a party in the garage ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I have absolutely no advice on the LSD...... PSD......whatever it is you're trying to do! But I don't want an X-pipe.
I'm really wishing I was home right now

Thanks to Mike we got it all taken apart, started at 5:30 and got it tore down by 9. The snap on the TT looks nasty, not frayed like in the other thread, when I get my camera I'll post some photos.
We decided to yank the entire suspension out and set it on the other side of the garage so I can get it cleaned up and possible shock treatment. The LSD/PSD/PASM was just one tube that we disconnected, causing large amounts of what appeared to be break fluid leak on the floor (I need to get some reading done on that system).
TT is on the floor and we "kinda" checked the crank movement, Rog will bring a guage this week to do an actual test, but there was very little movement.
Tomorrows job is to take the TC out and replace the carrier bearings, clean up 17 years of dirt and wait for the TT to get here.
89 928 turbo thanks for the offer, the car is here in Tx, it's just the wife up there. I'm the idiot who broke her car. She says the country side, up there, is the prettiest she has seen.
More to come tomorrow.

Sean,
Were you able to get the broken nub out of the rear splined flex plate? I think I mentioned this but make sure to take the rear pinch bolt all the way out.

I actually just came in to inquire about this. Yup, it's out now.
I did get everything cleaned up. Rear suspension looks almost new. I thought I had a TT for a fantastic price but had not heard a word so Rog ordered one from 928int this morning. Going back out to tug and pull.
