Thanks John... I was looking for the $1-$2 solution locally. I guess I was surprised that it wasn't a stock item. Oh well.

Local solutions are getting harder every day. I find most places are just stocking the "common stuff" and anything outside the norm, like 1/2" fuel hose, needs to be ordered or they want you to buy way more than you need.
Do you have a local marine store?

Andrew not that my opinion matters, but i would test fuel pressure under all conditions with a single pump. If you get good pressure, leave that stupid overcomplication out. Louie Ott says a new one lasted a very short time in his car.

Wel, 1/2 ID hose is 8/16 of an inch, which would make it -8 AN hose.

Buy some high quality rubber -8 hose.

How much ethanol mix is in your fuel, AO?
Doesn't ethanol munch on rubber bits for snackums?

Anyone put a strainer between in-tank grumbler and the external pump.

Swung by a "good" Autoparts shop on the way home last night. $0.90! Gave him a buck and walked out the door.

Some 80's vintage Fords have mostly Bosch FI and 2 pumps. The fix is opposite to ours - they put a big pump in the tank and remove the external. There is a resistor in the original tank line which is removed and a different model, stock, fuel filter replaces the external pump. There are no side effects.

Andrew
Just be careful putting the new in tank pump back in....if it strips....time for a new TANK..... I thought about changing my in tank screen (88's don't have dual pumps).. when I replaced my main pump...but Jim talked me out of it...due to the risk of ruining the tank...
