FWIW, Thanks to the kind, knowledgeable and resourceful people at DEVEK (Major thanks to Susan) for finding the elusive Porsche interface cable for my "Bosch Hammer" Those who attend the 9/28 gathering with an 89 or later 928 will have an opportunity to have it hooked up to their cars.

If you have the Porsche shop manuals, look though the "engine manual" and look for the pages that discribes the usage of the Bosch KTS-301 (AKA The Hammer).

Also, there is a supplement that Porsche put out call "Diagnosis or the Instrument cluster" I am currently working on revamping this information in a word format and I would be willing to share copies of as well as providing a quick How-To for those who attend with 89 or later 928 cars. All I ask is that you RSVP via the Rinnlist so I know how many copies to make.

Hey John,

I've had the hardest time finding a Texas breeder of those things. Apparently they all hit hard times. I finally found a guy near Dallas who gave me a good deal. I have 2 huge full hides. Impressive stuff, they don't call it the "King of leather" for nothing.
But I agree, I wouldn't want those things loose in my backyard either. <img border="0" alt="[nono]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" />

Max: are sure that the tool can only be used on 89+. I heard it started in mid 88. How can see if mine as it, where is the connector?

Paul there is a 19 pin diagnosis plug next to the Factory stereo amp.

Could be 88 , but I not sure yet(didn't want to give hope to those with 88's without further education). I've have my hammer for almost a year and thanks to DEVEK, I can finely use it. I received the cable Fri. a few hours before leaving for S.A. and only had time to run it though a few of the tests on my car. I'm planning on giving it another go tonight.

As far as those big dumb birds, do a goggle search. I have two Cousins that owned both Ostrich and emus, I can remember them talking about a Texas breeder Association. Maybe de funked now, but worth a try.

O-well here you go, <a href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Texas+Ostrich+Association" target="_blank">Goggle search " Texas Ostrich Association"</a>

Thanks Max,

I'll look around for the plug and let everyone know. And thanks for the link. That's how I found my guy, but the association itself doesn't seem to do much anymore. Too bad for all those people who invested in that business. It was thought to be the next gold mine for awhile.

Paul, your Shark is already practically a 10 for interior, after the new hide it will be 12+ for sure! I guess I'll just have to settle for some "Alpaca Hide"(you never know).

I'd like to come. I will be time, and local limited, but work out wat ever makes ya'll happy, and I'll see.

I don't know why anyone would want to see my rather run down example, but the car does run good, and loud.

Maybe we'll meet, maybe not...

I don't think anyone will be judging the conditon, it's more of a fun factor thing

I believe the place is set (booked) "Blanco State Park for 9/28/2003" as per Donald. Some of us will be going up for the weekend and others for the day. Hotel/Motel accommodation has yet to be worked out as far as I know, however efforts are being made to keep it affordable for all.

Get/or Jet with <a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/cgi-bin/rennforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_profile;u=00000178" target="_blank">Don Carter</a> as I think he is the Houston group leader and an all around nice guy. I know he has a Houston mail list you may want to get on so he can keep you up to date with the area event.

Hope to see you there, I would try a give Donald an RSVP in case there are any DEVEK give-a-ways like last year.

Yes, I've got a list that started as Houston owners, and now has other TX owners too.

Send me your info and I'll put you on it and send you a copy.

Name/Year/Color/auto/manual/email address is all I need.

Sterling-
Sounds good to me- that's a shy bunch up there in the high latitudes. I did meet Randy Grubbs last week in Madisonville, I guess now that he doesn't have a 928 he can find his way down I-45 .
Let's rename it for the occasion- see "Topic"

Hello guys & galls I am a friend of MAX from down here in The Valley. I have an 86.5 5-speed shark & my buddy & partner in crime has an 82 Shark. We are planning to join you guys up in Blanco.

We have been busy getting our local PCA area going & organizing local DE’s down here where we run a 944 on the track. We finally have a few months off & are looking forward to meeting you guys.

Rene-
Glad you'll be joining us. Do you run your 944 on the Cabannis track?
By my count the south is ahead of the "north" (D-FW) , will post a to-date head count tomorrow.

Cheers,

From the Houston area email I sent out, I received 2 maybe's and 2 definates (counting myself). I suspect there are several more that will go that I don't know about.

Maybe we should also plan a drive in the country before, after or during the event?

Donald, Max, Don,

Count me in. Good time to let you guys check out my latest shananigans. I've polished the intake manifold and cam covers to a chrome finish... Want a sneak preview?
