Door reinforcement bar
When I take my car home to Oz, they will reuqire me to have a reinforcement in the door to meet rules re 'Intrusion prevention'. I just found on PET, on one of the door pages, a part that looks right, labelled just 'reinforcement' - looks like a tube section with ends flattened and drilled, for bolting up. I found a bracket inside the door in about the right place, with a spare hole in it - ie there is no bar fitted.
Anybody know if this 'reinforcement' is intended to meet regulations like this please? Anybody ever seen one of these bars? List price? Sorry, dont have the part no with me.
TIA,

When I got my car the first thing that I had to do was to fix the door handle (broken). As for the bar meeting regulation I do not know, but would assume that's what it's there for. And as for seeing one in my car yep that's what they look like. Good description! Tube with flattened ends that bolts/welds into place. Don't remember exactly how mine was installed. But in hind sight, one would be a great idea in a side impact. Just two sheets of metal with the window mechanics seems a little light.
