Also depends on how you drive & where
Continual max revs in any gear will usually cause significant oil consumption.
Also of course oil leaks can have an effect.

0 consumption and I do and have used 0W-40 synthetic Moble 1 for more than 4 years now.
note: I did have cam seal leaks, but had the leaks before I switched, made absolutely no diff.
All is tight now!

I use synthetic 10w60 in my 1992 GTS. No real oil consumption or maybe 1/2 quart in 5000 miles. The autobahn is close so I do hit 200 km/h quite regularly.
Before buying thye GTS, the oil consumption was something that made me worry as some cars do consume quite a bit. Many are still in factory specification, so no worries. Mine is really ok. Word is that porsche say: the increased oil consumption was by design. They changed it when the S4 engine was upgraded to GTS. Not really sure if this is correct.
