Check out the dimensions of that thing too. Damn near the exact ones as our 928's.
911 Evolution has made it to where the 928 was 25 years ago.

While waiting to pick up our OB from the Porsche dealer service, I browsed through the showroom a bit. I couldn't help but think, "Geez, except for the price tag, all these things look the same!"
I realize such is a bit of an exaggeration and that people may have mistaken the 944 and 928, but I maintain that the Cayman and Carrera are pretty similar. And the Boxster does nothing for me. I'll take the 928's bee gas any day!

I was driving behind a 4S the other day & I thought the same thing.....damm that thing is WIDE.....it does look like some monster tires will fit under that thing...I think it comes with 305's stock!

The sought after voluptous big butt is made by the narrowness of the waist to which it is attached ( or cabin in the case of a car ... ) - otherwise, it is just another fat a$$ .....

It appears wide because the cabin puts the driver and passenger shoulder to shoulder. The passenger compartment is as wide as the engine hood. It's an illusion.
The car is about as wide as a GTS, but I think the GTS is wider...not sure, but damn close.

Apples to oranges.
I probably get too defensive on this, but it seems to me that some 928 owners go out of their way to pick at the 911. Then, in the next thread, they gripe about how they aren't necessarily accepted into the fold, or don't get respect.
Let's face it, Porsche builds damn fine cars. Period. The 928's were great, but weren't a total or ongoing viable commercial success, some of that due to focus on the 911, some in that it priced itself out of the market due to constant improvements.
Like it or not, the 911 has been selling as the staple in the line when it comes to profit for over 40 years. There must be something right about it.
