This is pretty interesting!

Jay: I like your color combo!

Dave W: I'm with you, but I limited this to other Porsche models...

Jim Nowak: Can you define the term "Chick Car" for me? Are these cars that don't enhance your male image? What makes a car chick car?

And in general: I am a little surprised that so many of you would choose the Cayenne. But I guess that's a good thing - for Porsche, at least.

Here are my answers:

I would have a hard time deciding between a standard Carrera and a Carrera 4S, and also between the tiptronic and the manual - I'd really have to drive them both.

But I do know that it would have to be a dark blue metallic with a grey interior, and proably lots of interior enhancements from the Exclusive program.

Would I trade the 928? Probably - as hard as it would be, one Porsche would have to go. I don't have enough space for an additional car, and don't think I could afford a fleet of three cars. I need one practical vehicle, so the Saab would have to stay.

Another scenario could be to sell the new one, and have the 928 completely restored, rebuild, repainted, reupholstered, etc. - in other words "made like new" for that money.

You left one out.

I would have to take the 911 GT3R
I would not drive it on the street so I would not have to worry about insurance.

I would keep the manual by choice evan though I think that the Toptronic is quicker.

Black would be fine but would settle for what ever rolled off the truck. Throw in a couple of turbo's

I would trade my 911 but the Shark? Not a chance.

Cool

Probably a Boxster S-

Mainly because after owning what eventually became a "community" Fiat Spyder when I lived in Puerto Rico in 1995, I grew to like convertibles.

Just before I bought "Jett Lag" in 1999, I test drove a '98 Boxster with Lucy, an airline friend. Neither of us was impressed...the six-cylinder Corrado that I drove at the time felt A LOT faster, and was more practical to boot. Not to mention the fact that the top of the Boxster's windscreen was EXACTLY in front of my eyes- an annoyance.

Alas, though they are still kewl due to the fact that they are PORSCHES, I still don't connect with the new 911's. I'm proud of their speed, and I guess if I sacrificed I could afford one, but...there is just something missing for me.

I already own a truck- "Happy Truck", the '66 Ford F100 that has every panel painted a different color in genuine RUSTOLEUM...so a Cayenne won't see the inside of my garage any time soon. A good thing, seing as how I just stocked up on Rustoleum~
<img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

Anyway, I guess if I was stupid enough to buy a NEW car [and lose 25% of the value the moment I drove it off the lot......], then I would pick a Boxster S- a [relatively!] inexpensive convertible Porsche that does something other than make strange noises when the skinny pedal goes down...

Nicole,

Check this out: <a href="http://www.racerchicks.com/auto/chickcars.html" target="_blank">http://www.racerchicks.com/auto/chickcars.html</a>

"If money isn’t an issue the Porsche Boxster, the Mercedes SLK or SUV (for “carting the kids about”) and the BMW M roadster figured high on the chick car list"....... See above site. This site sums it up rather nicely.

I'd go with the C4S. The all wheel drive would be something different for it to bring to the garage from the shark, which I'd have a hard time parting with. Who knows? maybe enough tire spinning joy rides in the C4 would change that.

Black interior. Black, deep blue or rich emerald green paint.

I'd have to drive a tiptronic to decide, but right now lean towards manual.

Oh, and I've seen plently of guys wearing big smiles driving around their Boxsters and Miatas - and being no less manly for it!

Thumbs up

Nicole,
I'll bite.
But I gotta pick 3.
1. Fur der kinder: The Boxter S mit der tiptronic.
Either leather in creme or perhaps black with a light creme pearlescent paint.
2. Meine Fraa:
Leibschen will have the Cayenne. Tiptronic, of course. Paint, either a deep blue, or silver with frost grey interior, cloth I might add as most of the women folk out here don't like leather for some reason. Is that gender specific, I wonder?
3. Since I can cruise in either of the first two ... it's good to be King! ... I believe a red on red GT2, tip if available.
I knew all along that you were the Porsche Fairy, Nicole. What do we do? Put a broken window switch under the pillow, or what? <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

The GT1 may be the choice for the moment, but the up coming Carrera GT will be the <img src="graemlins/r.gif" border="0" alt="[king]" /> .

Per the Porsche reps, even the new Enzo Ferrari will fail to beat the GT.
