Justin,

If your still unsure of what color to use after a photoshop. Try duplicolors "car art." They are like 4oz aerosol cans of temporary paint that washes off in soapy water or with a pressure washer. I was planning on using this on my wheels to see if i would like the black centers on a black car. I have since decided to leave them as is but this maybe helpful for you to decide.

Looks very interesting! Maybe you can post some detail shots some day...

Here are three variations for you:

Man those look cool, can you do them all black, or brown or whatever? Now I know what the clear side marker and turn signal lens would look like. Thanks

My advice is not to do the whole wheels in a dark color. You need that light colored ring to separate rim and tire - otherwise it'll look like you're driving a test mule on baloon tires..

Nicoles' got it right with the first one, 'cept I might go all gold, but it rocks just the way she has it. Body color is the name of the game. It's a timeless look rather than all the crazy wheel colors guys are doing these days for "flavor of the moment". Lose the red brake calipers too...

I promise you it won't look good in all gold... I've seen a car that had it done - it wasn't right. Maybe when I have some extra time later I'll go back in and dummy-up an all gold version to demonstrate it.

Nicole - nice work. I also like the first one! The key is subtle color. Stark gold will look to cadillac-blingey. Your photoshop pic captured a subtle tone beautifully.

My vote is for #1.

I think 2-tone is key to making the wheel look modern. But single color, if muted enough, wouldn't look bad. People need side by side comparo.

I agree with Nicole. The rim needs to be left unpainted or it'll look cheap - someone might even end up posting it on the PITA PO thread . Keith pointed out the red calipers, too. They'd look nice in black as well. If the car becomes too busy, it will lose its sex appeal, turn into a Joe Dirt-ish looking project. I like the black spokes; looks great with the black spoilers - that's what I'm going to do with my silver car. The gold spokes/alum rim look alright, too.

I love the color of your car. That gold color was my first choice in 928 colors to have - looks nice with my hair. What color is you interior?

I love how nicole added the clear markers. Great sales tactic, very well done, you cant argue that it looks allot better.

Keith: This comment is funny to me, " Body color is the name of the game. It's a timeless look rather than all the crazy wheel colors guys are doing these days for "flavor of the moment". Lose the red brake calipers too..." I seem to recall you suggesting i paint my wheel centers red! Trying to sabotage my car huh!

LOL..not just red, but BLOOD red, which is darker. There are exceptions to the rule, but I can't post disclaimers in every thread. Black cars, you can pretty much get away with anything.

Like a blank canvas, I see each car individually just waiting to have it's own unique edge unlocked from beneath.
