Post Well, I bought the shark..... pic

I posted a while back about looking at a 87 928S4 and I checked it out today and bought it. It has 87k on the clock and ran good. PO had repair docs and was as claimed. Is 10k a good deal? . Clean !!
Also, Thats my 944 in the pic as well.

Tim

Nice looking car. If the mechanics were as you say, the 10K is a very good price

I'd say 10K was a great deal if it is in good shape. The S4 is a big step-up from that 44. I'm sure you will like it for years to come.

Hi,
Nice looking car(s)
Best of luck with the 928S4 - in Australia it would cost about $A28000+ ( US$16000 )
Enjoy

Thanks for the positives. I used some tactics from the Buyers tips you guy's recommended and pulled some parts prices from Pelican, printed them out and showed them to the PO he insisted on including labor charges as well. Nice Guy. It will need a new Tbelt , spark wires and A/C work. BTW he was asking 13K.
I'm excited to get it in pristine condition. I anticipated the 13K so I got some cash to play with if the Wife lets me.

Tim,

If the timing belt has never been done, do yourself a favor and take it very seriously. The consequences are so dreadful.

I waited for 110K in my Euro (when I was young and foolish), 60K is recommended of course, and some guru's suggest sooner.

At very least, pull a cover and have a look around for signs of misbehavior in there. Re-read the threads on this topic.

At least pick up the after market tensioner and check your belt tension. Inspect your rollers and belt for wear, and make sure the tensioner boot is intact and full of oil.
