Question S2 Top End?

I've yet to reach it. Does anybody know just how fast it will go?

Got up to 260Km/h with two passengers yesterday but had to slow down then due to changing road conditions. She still had some go left at that point.

I've read that it's supposed top end is 250Km/h but I never believed that.

I had my 83 euro up to an indicated 155mph...
Smooth.
Hardly seemed like I was doing more than 90...
In other cars, 130 seemed like pure terror.
In the 928, it seemed like I could be tuning the radio, etc...

Effortless...

Hi Reinhardt,

The book figure is 255kph for manual, 250kph for an auto.

Reinhardt,
Technically, I'll side with John Speake.
But, FWIW, my 82 Weissach auto. has taken me to the other side of 134mph and was still pulling strong at 5800rpm where I cruised for about 8 minutes. Handling was superb, the car settled around 90ish and I felt like I was on rails.
Others have mentioned trying the 4spd auto, Brendan comes to mind, but I'm not sure the extra low end grunt and a better top end ratio is worth it for the few times I would need to drag race - off the line-, or, explore the upper realms of my speedometer.
I think the 4spd will eventually dial in for Brendan and he will be happy with it. I'll wait for his final cost vs performance gain, as well as driveability and possible mileage improvements.

Unless my spedometer is wrong i have got to 150-155. Cruised it like 60 miles at 140-145 one day.

That's a good point Jack. Wonder how accurate the speedometer is??

I'm 100% sure I can get it to cross the last mark on the speedo (270Km/h or 168 Mp/h) but what is that in real speed?

Not that it matters. I very rarely go anywhere near that sort of speed. <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

I've had my 86.5' at 155mph indicated and 153mph on my GPS. I have had it at 163mph on my GPS, but didn't look at the speedometer. I have 245/45/16's on and it's within 1 or 2 mph all the way from low speed to high.
