Yes Glenn be very carefull with that "constant on fuel pump" . It is very easy to have one leaky injector and fill a cylinder with fuel which can "hydro lock " the engine on the next attempt to start the car with disasterous results . Liquids do not compress and it breaks metal things like pistons , cylinders , bends rods ....You never know when someone at the car wash decides to listen to the radio while drying the car , mechanic trouble shooting electrical problem leaves the ignition on ETC ....

I am pretty sure they are just not answering Florida calls these days. I am probably the only sucker in Florida for this month.
I just reviewed the UPS tracking and it is a residential address!
Anyone close to them?

"Crawford is at the intersection of State Highway 317 and Farm Road 185, eighteen miles west of Waco."
Do you have a street address and a phone number?

I finally got someone on the phone, the mechanic is aparently gone for the day. She said to ship the unit back and they would review it and fix it if needed. That he (the mechanic) does this since twenty years and he fixed LH-brains before.

They are at:
Full Logic LLC
725 Twin Bends Road
CRAWFORD TX , 766382608

So I guess I will ship it back.

Does anyone have a bad unit that I could get to try and reverse engineer? I could give it a shot. I may be able to come up with a replacement design. Has anyone had the module that fails apart? Maybe Felix could donate one? The problem would be if the module has a EPROM or programmable array logic chip with the security on.

Why not place the LH unit on the wall and throw
darts at it, and replace the part where the dart
lands?

Sure bets guessing at the problem!

Have fun,
Loren

Lorenfb,
Don't assume that everyone is electronically illiterate like me (and, maybe, you). I seriously doubt that it's impossible to reverse engneer the LH brain unless, as Glenn says, there's some protection on it. Just suppose that Glenn "cracks" it. What a great boon to the 928 LH community. If he fails there's nothing lost.

Glenn - They are not rocket science. Most of the components are recognizable and obtainable. Except for that big custom IC. Someone with some time on their hands should be able to take a working ecu and design an emulator using modern technology. Probably with $25 in components.

Loren,

Quit! No matter how hard you try, your lack of professionalism will not encourage people to do business with you...

Maybe just put a quote and your warrantee on the board for all of us?

The EPROM is not protected, I have a disassembled version on my PC, also nearly finished the schematic (95% done). Willing to share with anyone who wants it.

Next task is to work on designing a replacement for the hybrid cct which Steve posted a nice pic off. Have a couple of bad LH's, same hybrid is used on Saab's and Volvo's, also have a couple of those coming in so I can get a unit up and running.

Work in progress

There are other parts on the board that are not available too by the way, however, it seems these don't go wrong ... or do so less frequently.

Once you have working knowledge of the chip (logic analyzer), you could probably replace it cheaper, more readily avilable ASIC or something of that nature.

Chris,
Sounds like your way ahead of the game. Is Bosch the only manufacture of the hybrid. A copy of your schematic would be great to troubleshoot my LH.

Glenn
