What do you guys think of my new subwoofer enclosure?
I had a little free time so I decided to clean up the old subwoofer and amp laying in my hatch and make something a little more permanent. But it had to match my decor......The Jager brushed aluminum program. I didn't want a lot of bass, just a little...background bass, so I ordered this 150watt amplified subwoofer from Crutchfield. Thought maybe the rear could use a little more volume so I bought these Sony 320 watt speakers. Then I hid an 800 Watt amplifier under the driver's seat. Spent the next two days designing, building and installing the console you see here. What do you guys think? Does it blend in? BTW the sound is incredible!!!!

Yep Alan, Ernest got it. It is a video cam. And I just got my second camera and the splitter that allows for picture in picture and a DVR with screen to record everything. Stay tuned for pics in a few days when I get it installed.

Oh yeah Ernest, the bass is just right. And if you look really, really close between my center console and the power window switches, you will see a remote control that gives you a really nice amount of controle over how the music sounds. Total cost of EVERYTHING was maybe $350.00 and three days of my life. But well worth it. I would definitely do it again. And Iceman, I have a cargo cover, but my camera couldn't see thru it so I took it of for the pic, LOL. Just bustin on ya. Charley, those are the speedhut Reverse Indiglo gauges. I love em.

Terra, I have a place 2 miles from my house that I can buy the vinyl from. 54" x 36"= $ 12.00. Send me a sample and tell me how much you need. Really nice to have them close to me.

Very cool.
I'm kicking myself for not buying a pair of the Polk 6x9 sub box when they were on closeout in crutchfield years ago. The perfect sub box for a 928. Very similar in size to this one.

Trust me Enzo, if I could have bought a box similar to the one I built, I would have in a heartbeat. But if theres none available and you own a 928 what do you do? You friggen build it of course!!!

About 10 years ago Polk had the C4 box on the market. It was about the width of the hatch with a tear drop shape on one side, square on the other. Inside were four 4x6 subs in an isobaric configuration.
I saw one in person, perfect in every way for a 928. With a 944 at the time I almost bought it. Being the dumb punk kid I was at the time. I opted for the twin 10" MTX box to shake my poor 944 apart. I still have that box. I watch ebay all the time for one.

Dr. Bob,It's a Soundstorm 800W, model F4200. 800W x 1, 400 x 2. with remote. The only thing this amp drives are the two 320 Sony speakers. So, I won't have to adjust it often, so the remote for it is under my fire extinguisher near the e-brake. The real problem is going to be when I have to hide all the cables, boxes, and splitters for the video cam system. Going to start on that tomorrow, right after I clean my garage.
