i used the new ice wax and i really start to like it.
you can apply it all over the car (minus interior and minus glass) and it leaves it with a great shine.
black parts will be black again without fading.
so, i have to take back an earlier statement.

I too, have been using it for years (at least 7). I use it on the front airdam, mirror lip/frame, and the rear spoiler. I apply it first to a towel then rub it onto the desired surface. I work it in as thoroughly as I can wiping off as much of the excess as I can for an even finish.

I have used Vinylex on the wing with good results. I have the mothers stuff too, it seems stronger than Vinylex.

I've been using Vinylex on my wing with decent results so long as I redo it every couple months. My truck bumper is even worse.

I'm thinking about trying some of this stuff... anyone here every use it?

I'll go with the recommendations for ICE - works, turns everything black, lasts longer than anything else I've used.

I prefer Griot's Garage Rubber and Vinyl Dressing (VRD) applied with a blue sponge.
Disclaimer: I only use Griot's on my cars and in the house!

Default One Grand ERV

I use One Grand ERV (Exterior Rubber and Vinyl). Lasts a long time and looks great. Here's a link to where I buy it:

Just my $.02

I've used Griot's before with good results, but the best I've found (IMHO) for the rear spoiler and front air dam is a product called "Black Again"

http://www.autogeek.net/blackagain1.html

It's thicker than the Griot's and seems to last longer. Brings the color back without being too shiny and it has UV protection built in. Works good on the window trim, too.

EDIT: SEE MY PRECAUTION IN POST #29 BELOW

Glad you brought up the "Black Again" product. I have a tube of the original stuff bought years ago and I'm squeezing the last few drops out of the tube. I was told by the "Carcare" guy it was no longer available when I tried to get another tube last year. He said the original company got bought out and the new owners messed with the formula to reduce cost of making it - loaded it up with silicone, according to him. Glad to see that it is back on market and perhaps even better than the original version. Unquestionably the BEST product I have ever used to make "things" black again !!!

Back to black doesn't work. It isn't BLACK!

Girots bumper reconditioner is like black shoe polish that dries to a nice eggshell black color. Works fantastic! But keep it off your paint (unless you have a black car).

Yes, I was a big fan of the original. I, too, have some yellowing remnants circa ~1998 still in a plastic container - having transferred it to that container when the original plastic bottle cracked from old age.

I am concerned, however, about the silicone you mentioned. I did some quick research and found the MSDS on the current version, which lists the primary ingredient as Polydimethylsiloxane (commonly referred to as silicone)

http://bluemagicusa.com/bm_files/msd...again_msds.pdf

I don't know about the long term effects on the wing or trim, but generally speaking you don't want to get silicone on paint. So, I guess I should modify my endorsement to say "use at your own risk". It's too bad, because it really appears to work well.

I'm really happy with back to black on my S4 wing.
