I bought a small torque wrench for closed in areas that also was calibrated for the low torque spec but I also had the same issue the torque wrench couldn't be used on all the bolts so I did have to guess on a few...I tended to go a little on the loose side..the bolts are accessible so you can always tighten them up a little...but planing the intakes and upgrading to the newer intake gaskets...while a lot more expensive again helps mitigate that risk....I justified it by telling myself this is the only time I'm going in there...I used the silicon stuff recommended to keep all the hoses soft and pliant and there are a lot...with loads of hose clamps.,..if you haven't been that far down ...I strongly encourage you to take a few days and visit each clamp down there as if you are doing the installation again.. One loose clamp...and it doesn't have to be that loose...and you'll have vacuum leaks.. 21 inches of vacuum is a lot...clamps have to be tightened down securely...the hose collapses a little under the clamp so compensate for that and give that clamp that extra 1/4 turn or so to compensate. I did this and have been rewarded with outstanding idle quality and response...the throttle feels like it's connected to your brain, not your foot.

I'm on this job for my new to me 85. Last time I did it on a 32 valve was my 86.5 in 2008. Struggling to get the fuel rail off.

Three Wheelin'
PBlaster and way more force on either end than you might think prudent as you rock from front to back. Also did you remove the clips to give the option for the injector o-rings to let go from the top or the bottom?

Got them. Damn, you are right - way more force than you think is prudent!
