YES DAMN IT, some of you guys never listen .

Ive been telling people they are $340 at Sunset for the longest time! From now on i will buy the damn things, sell them to everyone else for $500 and i will have source of vacation funds available.

These mirrors always come up, and whenever they do i always tell people where to get them. AND YES THEY COME WITH THE GLASS!

And anyone who pays $250 to have them painted is a moron, go to a different shop thats not raping you. Its a pair of mirrors, not the Sistine Chapel.

Hmmm. Maybe a group buy for one color... black? I can justify loading the spray gun for a few sets. Four or five sets at once would cover paint and prep, materials... and the cost of my mirrors! Anybosy else need black?

Moroon is one of my most favorite colors. I wasn't going to paint them moroon, since it would clash with the mauve and pink interior. Maybe on a weinrot car they would look OK. And hey, use spellcheck.

Think its time for you to take your daily pill there Ryan. And perhaps you should tell Roger of your plans, since as your fellow Texan he's already selling them unpainted for not quite $500.

And keep in mind, some might think it improves the look of their shark to almost as pretty as the "Sistine Chapel".

Its always nice to feel such shark love from a fellow rennlister! jk

I think we're up to four pairs in black so far. Let's get a few more participants and we'll split the cost of supplies for painting. Volunteers?

Mel,

I am not trying to infringe on Rogers business here, if i saw him advertising them then i wouldnt say a damn thing. Also $400 is very reasonable. He isnt making much on them when you consider the shipping to get them. My post is so that you avoid some other sellers who try and sell them for $650 unpainted. Ive seen it, when i see people marking up stuff like that it annoys me. Why i dont know, i guess i am looking out for others. I know better then to pay that but some of you dont. I am trying to help some here that pay x amount for something, then when they try and resell it on ebay they get offered .5x amount for it they get mad, but they never did their homework and they loose money. $500 for Porsche mirrors is not the going rate, if you wanna pay more, hey go for it. I'll supply them all day for $499. Hell for $800 I will have them painted any color you want. ANY TAKERS?

I am actually trying to help Rennlisters do the conversion without being ripped off by some ebay sellers. I am TRYING to do my part to inform the others in the group that you dont need to spend that much.

I will in the future not mention my cost to people and just charge retail for whatever i pimp off rennlist. I am not doing this as a business, when i make a suggestion to save YOU money, i do it for no reason other then to help YOU out.

If that help is not appreciated, so be it, i wont comment on price anymore.

Cheers

PS: I had a pair of tires i offered for sale here for $200, i got a bunch of time wasters PMing me and i said screw it. I listed them on Ebay and the winning bid was $355. So much for trying to pass on a good deal to Rennlisters.

To my boy "G"

I suggest you in the future take a look at the entire thread before sending me anymore hostile PM's and making comments on possible events that recently happened in my life. My posts haven't been edited in anyway.

Take a look

I buy my paint $6 at a time. Shake, spray and walk away. At 120mph who can tell the difference?

Dude- Miata mirrors will realy set it off! Why don't you slap on an '89 Jetta roof antenna too, so you can have a "real" GTS!

Certainly didn't expect so much debate. Guess we'll always have the concours, "It's stock or it sucks" crowd and the Trailer Queen, "Drive it like a rental" crowd. Seems quite often here, if your not a concours candidate or a full blown track car your sinning against the Church of Porsche. There is no middle ground for some. Mention you use nitrous and watch the bashing you get..

My goal was to update the look of my OB and explore what options there were. My car is not an investment, its a blast to drive and place to loose my hard earned money. I like to tinker, it's that simple. The hood must be up every weekend to give me purpose. A newer GTS would bore me to tears. MY OB may cost me more than a GTS by the time I'm done, but I'll have a kick *** time getting there, and have a much faster car to boot.

Bottom line. There are those that shine and those that drive. I drive.

But yes, after seeing the miata 928 from other angles, the miata mirrors are not to my taste, too small from the side for me. Think I'll wait for a wrecked 07 eclipse to steal a set of aeros off of for $200. Missed out on the last pair I saw. Parked the shark next to one a couple months back. Would be an easy mod. I love this board and it's the best investment I have made fo rthe Shark. Folks here are always willing to help out, even though they can be over oppinionated at times.

But I still have pictures!

I paid $50 for the pair, from a junkyard. Non-powered.

Wrong. He has a 1981 928 which means he'll need the adapters for the older cars. Here is a quote from Dave when I asked him about getting them:

Figure on about one hour to assemble them at $85. It will require having the proper pin removal tool to take the old ones off, we sell them for $16. Ready to rock and roll you can figure on about $900 not including shipping. I will be coming through your area in August, could drop them off in person.
Edit: Didn't see there were 3 pages when I first posted. I guess they're not that bad if I can buy the adapters separate.
