Strange Headlight Problem
I've been trying to solve a problem that is actually more of an annoyance.
Switch headlights to Position 'I' and Headlamps rise with only parker intencity and parkers go on as well (as they should)..all else is perfect.
As this is a Honk Kong Import that is apparently the way it's supposed to work.
Wiring schematics show a 'Dim. Beam Module' (M061)) which apparently is the cause of this action which is NOT in most of our cars.
Question is...Has anyone heard of this creature and where is it located so that I can bypass.
Any help would be fantastic.
Thanks,
Jim

Yes... all lights turn on and work as normal.
As I understand it the Headlights should only pop up in Position 'II' Mine pop up in position 'I' and 'II' but with a "Dimmer" glow... not normal headlight beam nor high beam.
Thanks

Have you removed the light switch from the dash and inspected it for additional wiring?
It is easy to remove it - first, pull off the control ****, then just use two small screwdrivers to press the retaining clips in, then the switch pulls straight out.
If the switch checks OK, the next likely culprit would be the headlight control relay located on the main electrical control panel. Perhaps they used an additional or different type of relay.
The "dim-dip" was standard on many cars. You can fix it by
1) removing jumper on T5 (if fitted) which is a 3 pin connector near the LH and EZK brains
2) Link T5 pin 1 to pin2 i.e. white/black to white/black.
(at your own risk)
John
I'll check those items you've mentioned, but I believe that as this was a car originally sold in the UK ( and then to HK) that John's solution may be closer to my problem...thank you both for your help.

I've looked for this 3 pin connector as stated :
Found an unjumped 3 pin connector with the following spec.
Pin 1= Brown/Green
Pin 2= Brown
Pin 3= Brown/Red
Tried jumping pins 1+2 No difference ( This connector was not in the lighting schematic I have in any case.)
I then found another round 3 pin connector but not with the wiring colours specified...this one was jumped 1+3....didn't attempt it this time.
(This connector was on the R/H side of the fuse box and was well insulated in black rubber)
Is this the connector I should be looking at?
BTW I pulled the whole fuse box out incase there was something else there and unplugged all ECUs
in the area incase there was something else behind them....but nothing.
(I guess not knowing what 'T5' doesn't help.)
Any further help would be great.
Thanks,
Jim
It is shown at G3 on page 97-257.
There are two possible connections at T5:
Pins 1 & 2 connected if you do not have the dim bulb module.
Pins 2 & 3 connected if you do have the dim bulb module.
There may also be a white/black wire between C11 and C14 that may have to be changed. (Plug C at the bottm left of the central power panel.)
