Does anyone have the Cam lift and duration for the following:

85 16 Valve
86 32 Valve Organ pipe style
87 S-4 smaller intake.

I don't have those numbers, but IIRC, the 86-86 32V cams have the same lift and duration as the GT, but the S intake cam is retarded by 8°.

Thanks guys:
I spoke to Carl today he is going to dyno the 86 with his S/C and he said the power is dependent on the overlap and duration. A shorter duration and overlap the more power. He said if it stays open too long the pressure will cause blow by for both the intake and exhaust when both valves are open. Im curious to see how the 86 dynos up!. From what you sent me seems like the power maybe lower.

Has anyone ever replaced the cams on an 86 without pulling the motor?

Still asking about replacing cams without pulling motor
This is in case the cams in the 86 will not work for the SC kit, just trying to hedge my bet so to speak!

86 cams are GT cams as was said.
no problem pulling cams. what do you think the issue would be?
on a euro 2 valve, its a little tougher, but not that bad. real bad if the cam tower gaskets are bad and cracked, if not, its just a trick to get the allen bolts out of the holes and not much room to work in.
cams on a US 86 is a piece of cake. just pull the cam covers, and the rest is not much harder than doing a timing belt.

My reading from before indacted that the covers could not be removed from an 86 because of clearence, maybe this is for the heads I'm not sure. But as things go those bolts would break for me just because!

It can be done on the early 32Vs too. It's very tight but it's doable. I've done this myself, so this is first hand experinece.

I don't think you'll have to change cams. The '85-'86 US engines respond really well to boost.
