Hello Glenn,
I am in Coral Springs, which is a bit east of you. I have had very good expirience with Turbo Werks in Ft Lauderdale they are just north of Commercial and west of I95. The owners name is Jose, he is very knowledgeable and a very nice guy. (954) 771-1177. He does more 930's then 928's, but he is by far the most knowledgeable mechanic I have encountered down here (I am not affiliated at all). Stay clear of Coral Gables unless you go to the Porsche dealer, I had some real "experts" ruin my engine down there.

I have not been to Turbo Werks, but I think I will scope them out sometime. My opinion is to take the drive to Gulf Performance in Pompano Beach. They know 928's. I have scoped out a few shops in So Flo, but when the only 928 in sight is the one I drive up in, and the owner calls himself an 'expert', I'm not buying it. Go past Gulf and you will always see 4 or more 928's at the shop. Perhaps Turbo Werks is like that too.

I saw your previous post. Don't buy without a good PPI. Also, if there is no record of the timing belt, you need to plan to have it done with the water pump and tensioner rebuild - about $1300.

I have been at Gulf Performance before as well, and you are correct Cameron they always have a couple of 928's around and seem very knowledgeable. I ended up going to Turbo Werks since several of my friends bring their cars there for years and are happy. But Gulf might even be the better place for the 928 PPI. Do you live in South Florida as well?

I'd also recommend Gulf Performance. As others have said, there are almost always some 928s there, and it's been that way for 5+ years that I know of. Felix is one of the owners and used to drive an S4 himself. Not sure if he still has it or not.

What's this, you guys are in So Flo as well? I'm in Fort Lauderdale (Oakland Pk Blvd and US 1 area). If Glenn goes forward, I count at least four of us down here. Sounds like enough for a new chapter of the 928 club!

I wish I could make the trip up to SITM. My family and work obligations just don't permit it at this point in time. I love a good road trip.

I do see Sharks around here once in a while. There is a beautiful red pre S4 that I see in Fort Laud once in a while. There is a silver S4 that I see in Sunrise on occassion. Besides those two, there are random sightings.

I think it would be great for us to do a family fun day / get together at a local park here. Spend a Saturday afternoon comparing Sharks, playing sports and a good BBQ. Do you want to be a co-organizer with me?

Felix and Vince are the experts. They have a PASSION for 928's. When I last saw Felix, he had sold his red 928, but had his eye out for the "next one" (he prefers a 1989 or newer with a blown-up engine).
