Hey Martin, don't offer that twice i migth say yes , I wish i could do that for a living but with all the right instrumentation and tools but i don't think i could earn my life with this, i'm too meticulous , unless i do it for someone worst than me

Tonight i just made another roadtest and it really left me wordless , i had a problem with the engine temp going too high and i solved it buy putting a thermostat 7 degrees lower and by changing the location of the sensor of the electronic unit controlling my electric fan and i said tonight is the night and i can assure that all the efforts i've put in every part of my shark paid me back, what an astonishing car

If I had the time and the money...my car is on the cusp of being great or being parts, and with two jobs I only have the time and wherewithall to keep it teetering there.

Great job, really nice to see one invest so much time, passion (and capital) on an older vehicle.

I've never come across a air injection system plumbed from the diverter valve like yours though. Of course, I haven't come across all that many! I'll have to re-check my improvised routing, been a while since I've contemplated that-- great shot of the back of the engine by the way! And the shiny CIS components make me droool.

That's good Jack , i'm taking it to a car show tomorrow and i won't push it, after that it will be stored for the winter while i'll buy the joints and install them for next summer. Will i have to get the car realigned ?

While saving posts from the garbage I came across this thread. I had forgotten about it but it is epic enough that the noobs may want to see it. It goes to show you what can be done to save these cars and just how far someone can take it with enough time and perserverance. ( and a little $$ )

You understood very well what i did Fabio421 but i will rectify the end of your reply by this : (and a huge $$) But it worth it, it's a Porsche
My master piece of a car is sitting in my garage and comes out one month a year.
Master piece not because of what i did on it but because of how it has been designed and built.
Because of where i live we can only use our collector cars from may to october. I play with my 911 from may to august and i take out the 928 during september.

Is that a Robb Budd interior? Looks nice whoever did it! The whole car looks good. In regular driving the steering is under MUCH more stress at low speed than high (other than track driving boys) and thus most ALL of the ball joint failures were at very low speed while parking... That is my understanding anyway.

I am with you AM on saving another shark! I LOVE IT! Some must die so that others can live, but those with a chance should be taken care of and nursed back to full health!

What a fantastic job you've done with that OB!! Hats off on the undertaking, its absolutely a LOT of work to restore a 928!!

Take it from someone who had the aluminum ball joint let loose. You do NOT want that to happen to that beautiful car!! My 79 had one break loose about 10 years ago and the car only had 55k on it at the time. Aluminum ball joints are one orignal piece of equipment that you do NOT want to keep, trust me!!
Mine happened at parking lot speeds going around a corner, not fun at all!!

I've had all the interior redone. I choosed the material and colour myself for the seats and other upholstery parts. The white makes it look younger.

Don't worry about the balljoints, i got the message, my shark won't leave the garage without new steel ones.
My baby will stay in the garage till next year this time because the road that gives access to my house will begin to be redone in a few days and i refuse to take out my cars in that mess.
I heard about that but i don't worry much.
