Default my project 928 restoration photos

Here are some photos of the craziest project i ever did : my first car restoration : a Porsche 928.
Crazy because i'm an electronic technician and i learned mechanic on that car, i had nobody around and near for help and parts at the beginning.
But as you can see on the pix the result is not too bad
It is easiest for me to say what has'nt been done on my shark than what i did.
The car drives and behaves very well , and sounds great too !!!
Nobody touched the engine but me and it turns and starts great. Last summer i reached 190kmh/h (120mph) climbing a tough hill ,cause that's only what we have around here, and it was asking for more !
What a car and what a money pit
Believe it or not but the engine has been toothbrushed (also crazy)
I'll use this forum to thank every Rennlist forum users who helped me during this four year crazy adventure , without your precious help i could'nt have succeed.
I would also thank Dr Clyde Kwok and his son Hugh (the ones who make the 928 spyder and the triposto)for their help for some new and used parts.
Nothing is impossible (with a comprehensive and patient wife of course )

Very nice! How much time would you estimate for the whole job?

Seriously looks great and now you get to enjoy a "new" classic.

Seriously, I just sat here going OOOOHHH! as I scrolled through the 'after' pics. Great stuff. Clearly a labor of love and very nicely done at that.

Now I have to get to work on those chewed-up phone dials I've been meaning to restore. They look awesome, as does everything else. Congrats!

It was hard to tell but I seriously hope you have steel balljoints cuz the ones in the pic look like the fat aluminum ones!!!

I scrolled through the pictures top to bottom and got a big smile. Bottom to top is what had happened over time and you reversed the decay of the car.

Big congrats!

Looking at the photos it seems as though the car was white then sprayed green, but it is hard to tell. If so it is great that you took it back to original. Did you also take off the undercoating?

The outcome looks fantastic! Glad you ditched the green interior, never really was a fan of that marbled green look. The new interior colors are much more subtle.

Looks like it was green then sprayed white. Really like the seats with the Black and White bits. Intereior is one of the best I seen.

Why did you change from green to white?

Look at engine pic #1 and wheel/suspension pic #4. The strut towers in #1 were white, in pic #4 look at the overspray on the strut and the canister. Also in the pic of the trunk the nuts on the rear struts covers were painted as well as several other parts that shouldn't be, wiring harness and couplings, upper door panel edges, driver floorboard, upper firewall, that car was white when it started life IMO.

I LOVE green Porsches that's the reason that I looked at the pics so hard before posting.

VVV Check sig..

Michael
