I think the Kumho MX KU15's are a fantastic tire!

I have 225 Front 245 Rear and the car handles fantastically, particularly in dry conditions with some heat in the tires.... In wet conditions I don't think they are so great with traction, but do create a load of fun!

Biggest down size to these tires is that I have only had mine for one season, which included a trip to Nurburgring and the rears will need to be replaced before next years trip... But I do drive them pretty hard...

I had four different sets of Kumhos on three different cars, one of the 928s, the Z4 & the Roush. Hesitate to say which of the specific Ecsta's model they've been, I wanna say the ASX, but maybe not. I'd have to look at the labels again to be sure. I keep those in the garage for when its time to reorder a set.

The 1st set on the Roush drove fine, but only had a 130 treadwear rating & wore out fairly quickly. Those were Z rated Summer tires. The other 3 sets have been good tires. I've gotten All Seasons with 320-400 treadware for longevity & they still have a good ride. No noise, no problems stopping. I'm sure they probably do prefer the warmer weather & they've been great in rain which is impt. here. Even in 265 & 295 sizes on the Roush, they were pretty darn inexpensive too.

For me, overall the last three sets of Kumhos compared equally to the 2 sets of Bridgestone Potenzas currently on our 2 sharks & 5 different sets of Continentals that were previously on my sharks & my BMW 325 when I had it. Until I experience otherwise, Kumhos will be my tire of choice & the Tire Rack's prices are hard to beat.

And I would buy Continetals or Bridgestones again based upon their performance, no problems there. Just so far, the Kumhos have compared equally well to them & for less money.

Actually the Fiero GT should stop better than the 85 928 in fact better than an S-4, 60-0 in about 131 ft vs. 137ft for the S-4 according to numbers I found . Mostly due to the better weight distribution more rear bias allows the Fiero to use all 4 tires and less weight to stop !

Kyle;

There are too many factors involved just to say that Kuhmo's suck... e.g. tire age, inflation, alignment, scrub radius, etc. Tell us more about your setup as well. (rim diameter, tire size, offsets)

The most intense driving I've seen and done (Deals Gap 3 years running) were on Kuhmo Supra's in a well sorted 79 928. Even did awesome in the rain.

I've had probably 10-12 sets of 'em on different cars w/o any serious complaints. Though the hotter they get the better they stick, unlike the conti sports I've had.

stock, everything. yes I know lots of factors.... but the one thing that has changed is the tires. Even with coopers that were bald on the inside front (yes the alignment was fixed about 1000 miles BEFORE the tire change) they held better than these Kumho's. I noticed the day i had the tires changed.

This isn't the first instance on this car where I have felt a lot lesser perfomance than the Coopers. So its not like Im ragging on the tires becasue of this one instance.

I am disappointed in Kumho customer service with their lack of support in upgrading me also. Especially since the tires are listed "high perfomance" and the kumho rep actually told me "they are more of a touring tire". So uck um. Ill eat this set and not buy another set kumho's and this will be my opinion of kumhos whenever someone asks, and it seems people ask a lot......

Contact was made to the rep the second day I had the tires. He told me to go back to the dealer and "see what they would do". Ahhhh no.... he should have picked up the phone, called the dealer and said, "Upgrade this guy to whatever he wants, charge him the differance and call me when you have the old tires in hand".

I did call the dealer and was told "ahhh, we have to look into this, we'll get back to you" well that was about 60 days ago. Im not going to be belittled or a pest.... The heck with both of them. I have 4 cars that are all driven a lot and need tires at LEAST once every two years.. Kumho and the dealer are going to be out more than I am at this point.... all becasue no one could pick up a phone.

I often take many things very literally and tend to have a problem with statements of "facts" which are not necessarily true. So yes a bit of "sharp shooting" now about that Chevelle

Why not just simply follow up on it. Maybe they lost your contact number. It’s a little too early to get so wound up about this. This might still have a good ending.

I have used Hankook H- Rated high performace for street use and they work great for little $$$. No winters on these tires.

I've been very happy with my Ecxta RSX's. I'm not exactly tender with them either. Personally think they are a pretty damn good tire.

As jim has a problem with facts..... I have a huge problem with bad customer service. especially from someone I have been doing business with for the last 3 years and have spent over 6000.00 in tires at this location.(personal and business) They have my number if they want to call me. They know me by first name and they know the name of my company.

But thats just the dealer... Then we have the Manf rep who blew me off...... I guess it is almost a sickness where if i get bad customer service I just will not go back. Sometimes to the point where it cost me money. Such as this, Im going to eat these KUMHO's. i will give it consideration if they have have just ef'd up... but not the case here.. the rep blew me off and the dealer forgot about me or doesnt think im worth the bother. So the heck with um.
