83' Auto for sale
Hello fellow rennlisters,
Well, although it has been a while since I have posted, A few months back I finally got back into a position to own a 928 again. Well, not to drag out a long sob story – I purchased a 928 and soon after things went to crap again, so here I am again selling another one. This time I am looking for a timely sell.
So on to the point of the post
I am selling my 1983 928S not sure of what color you would call this.
I purchased this car from a fellow rennlister about 4 months ago fixed/broke one thing since bringing it home and she has been parked in my garage every since.
Car shows 164,000 miles but odometer is intermittent.
Here is a list of what I know the car is in need of:
1st off would be what I screwed up. The car came with new front brake pads and rotors, which I attempted to install and all was going well until the passenger side bleeder valve snapped off in the caliper. A friend came by and to "help", he drilled and tapped the bleeder and I have not seen him since and I have no idea what size he tapped it too and so the at the moment the car only has emergency brake, because of this reason.
I am going to attempt to get time to replace this valve and get the brakes bleed down and working to allow an easier sell. But it is tough to find time as of late.
Drivers side window only goes up and down when the door is open in a certain position.
Transmission has a slow leak through the pan gasket.
The power steering line needs to be replaced. (the one with the metal ends) It leaks very badly.
The front Aux. fan may need replaced or possibly the thermostat, I have not checked it out, I just know it does not come on.
There is a bit of rust at the drivers side rear qtr window.
There is a small dent in the pass rear quarter panel.
Dash has been stripped of all of its coverings.
I was given another dash with leather to recover and new vents for dash.
Pod would also need recovering, as of right now it has plastic cover on it.
Center console has shrinking around center vent.
Rear tires need replacement and wheels are in need of refinishing.
Timing belt would probably need to be replaced for reassurance.
It was inspected and tension checked 3 months ago. But I am not sure of when it was last changed.
There is a drain on the battery, that will kill the battery if not driven in 4 days.
The radio powers up, but does not play.
Now what I know is GOOD:
When I purchased the car, I drove it 5 hours with the A/C blasting without any problems. It drove straight and without any hesitations and I drove the car for about 2 weeks without any problems other than the ones listed above.
As stated above the A/C does work very good.
Paint is very good shape with few scratches here and there. Nothing deep just surface.
Front spoiler and brake ducts are in tack and in perfect condition. As well as still bolted up all the way across. lol
Has H4 headlights.
The interior is as far as I can tell 90% leather and besides the dash and shrinkage around center vent is in good condition. The seats could use a redye. The carpet is in good enough shape that they would look good with a redye no holes or tears. The covers on either side of center console need replaced or repaired.
Anyways, I am hoping for a quick sell so I am asking $2400 or Best Offer.
Thanks in advance for any help or interest in my car.

Rod, I guess your right well if I don't get to the brakes I will take $2000 by this weekend.
Lee, I know your right I would be the same way about feeling better about being able to drive a car home rather than have it towed. If it doesn't go by this weekend, hopefully I will get a chance at that valve.
Thanks guys,
