Does anyone know the ID of the tubes between the filters and the MAF on the Blackbird? 928SS post indicates the tubes are bigger than OEM.

Thanks

Good product. $700 is way to much. If the price dropped to say $400. DR wouldnt be able to produce them fast enough.

I'm happy to support DR's efforts and believe $700 is a great price.

try building one yourself that looks this clean and that works this well. then let us know how much time and materials you put into it... don't forget to add in in an infrastructure to market, sell, produce and support the product too

from a $$/HP it's a great bargain also. try finding a 928 product that gives 15-25rwhp for under $2500.00 or so installed. there aren't any. maybe NOS, but surely not any combo of OH, cams, exhaust or blower unless you do it yourself and don't count labor.

but then I tend to look at things from a 928/porsche perspective - not a mustang or cheby perspective where we could get a custom 454cu 500hp or 350cu 400hp motor built and installed for 5k..

Totally agree with everything above, Rob. Did I read somewhere that DR has the filters specially made?
Thanks, Jim

I agree with Rob's comment but there is probably a resistance due to the price.
Personaly I would like to see some more numbers posted as well on both GT and S4 before and after to be prepared to pay.
If the numbers are consistent the price as Rob says is good, another problem seems to be availablity on these with an uncertain delivery time at the moment.

I think the filters are an off the shelf item to keep costs down... but there is a mod in the works to help the rear portion seal better.

plenty of data about benefits of opening up the airbox on both the 5L and expecially the 6.x ltr stuff.. I think this is the cleanest implementation I've seen though.

they do seem to take a while to get however. course, compared to the time required to build a stroker, it's not much of an anomolie... kinda like those devek L2 headers or a lot of other stuff for these cars.

in that regard, I suppose if I had a consistant complaint w/the 928 it would be the aftermarket industry in general. there simply isn't enough volume/928's on the road to justify the kind of industry for aftermarket parts we see w/ferds and chebys, or even yamaha rhinos. so what we have is driven mostly due to indivdual enthusiests who just love the car more than ROI or typical business factors.

given their time is limited and as a way to contain costs, they tend to batch orders until they get enough to justify a production run.. if you happen to be first on the list, you'll wait longer than the last guy on the list. just the way it is... does make getting the parts kinda like christmas though
