Hey guys, just got a set of 4 point harnesses. Where have you guys mounted them? I'm thinking the rear seat belt mounts are not high enough, plus they are at an angle. I've got the bottom belts in the original front seat belt mounts. I've got both top belts going to the rear mounts right now, but it just seams wrong.
Thanks!
Thanks!
The only safe place to mount the shoulder harness is to a roll bar. The factory points are not positioned right for a harness bar like the 944 guys use.
DEVEK made a set of mounts that bolt to the rear shock towers that work well. I have a set in the garage I'm not quite sure why I purchased.

Thank you sir! Roll bar is on the list already, just may have to move it up on the time line now.
On the other hand let me know if you don't need the Devek mounts. PM me a price if interested, would allow me to hold off on the roll bar until after x-mas.

Hey Terra-pistris,
I ran my first open road race with the Devek rear shock mounts and they worked well. You will need to use long H-Type harnesses to get back that far. I now have a roll bar installed, I like the harness attachment point being closer, feels more solid
For the lap belts I am using Brey-Krause Harness mounts
· R-9001
· R-9003
They ran $75 a set, and allow you to continue to use the factory belts when you’re not using the 4-point. One additional hole will let you go to a 5-point system

I can say that I had the identical experience and also have a set of the Devek harness mounts available if there is someone else interested after reading this thread.
I've installed an autopower rollbar....it is much nicer having the harness closer to the seat as well as the additional close rear seat support and improved location for my camera.
Regards,
Ken

I guess the thought was if I ever track my street car, but the hassle of the other three points of the harness would prevent me from using them.
As soon as I find the PM with how much I paid I'll forward that on to you.
