928 a German Muscle Car?
Just got done watching Muscle Car on the Tube and wondered if the 928 would be considered "Good ole German Muscle" Then I wondered how " Good Ole German Muscle" would look across the *** end of my SC 928 in small letter's???

I think the 928 is certainly referred to as a "German Muscle Car", at least by us owners anyways. I know I reference them that way often myself. Not sure how that look or come across tatoo'ed on the rear end of your S4 though. If you'd like it then that's all that matters right?

The motor is too small to be a muscle car. The 442 , GTO pontiac , chevelles , Road Runners, Cudas etc. ALL HAD nearly 400 cubic inch engines or much larger stuffed into a cheap smallish car. The 928 was designed to be the very best SPORTSCAR that Porsche could build at the time as the succesor to the 911 . Calling it a Muscle Car really understates what a great handling machine it is. Muscle cars drove like a cheap economy sedan with drum brakes , poor suspension and little narrow biased ply tires and a big torquey engine weighing down the front end. They were and are good for one thing --smoking the tires and were not all that fast even in a straight line when in stock as delivered form. The 928 a Muscle Car not in my book ! It is a great high performance sports car.

...Its a great high performance sports car.
I have to agree, these cars were really well thought out, handle exceptional, and really shine when compared to what the americans had out there in the 70's. When I look at the new corvettes with their aluminum blocks, rear mounted transmissions, dual overhead cams and what not I'm left thinking the 928 was quite ahead of its time.
Not to mention that summer's here, and when I'm out to drive my 85 I grin from ear to ear...

I agree comparing it to a American Muscle car is not the same, but compared to any other car across the pond from the same time frame?

If the 928 is a muscle car, then so is a 911 Turbo and a Testarossa, I think.
