PSD Troubles?
Any one have an idea as to what the problem could be on my GTS- When I go around corners (slowly) I can feel the wheels kind of locking up. Almost like studder -- Hard to explain but anyone out there know what I am talking about?
Thanks in advance as always

Hello Samantha,
Oh, what the heck..... I'll chime-in, even though I'm definitely not an expert on this system......
It sounds like your PSD may be engaged permanently-like....
You didn't mention that your PSD indicator light was on, but I assume it isn't....
What you describe makes me wonder if perhaps the little slave cylinder that engages the limited slip might not be stuck-in and the electrics that tell you that it is just don't know it....
Perhaps a bigger brain will jump-in to either refute or confirm my thinking, and have a better explanation of what could be going on....
Best,

I have heard of people cleaning/rebuilding and then chrome plate the insides to prevent corrosion and such. Has anybody else heard about this idea?

Ok, thanks to all that replied as I REALLY appreciate it!! I do vaguely remember an error popping up only a couple times and only when I first started the vehicle (cold start) that indicated something with differential off and/or traction controls off but again it only happened a couple of times at about 1 out of 5 cold starts and it never happened again. There is no specific error up now nor has one showed that actually read PSD or ABS off. How do I drain and change this fluid- is it a very difficult job? Is this on the Nichols site and if so anyone have the right site address?
Thanks again,
Sam

A search for 'PSD flush' gets several matches. Here's one that contains a link to the detailed instructions:

The differential housing has a Allen drain plug on the bottom and a fill plug on the rear cover, on some models you need a 10mm Allen wrench and on others a 18 mm Allen wrench, loosen the fill plug first. It’s a dirty job. Spend the $85 and let a reputable auto repair shop do the job. The PSD Fluid and Differential Fluid are in two separate systems.
