Window Trim
I have just obtained my 79 928 project car,and have the first of many questions.The metal window trim around the rear hatch window appears to be aluminum ,but is badly discolored.Is this restorable or must it be replaced? thank you

What you need is SEM trim paint, it's available in a couple levels of gloss, I use
# 39143 which is almost flat, I believe the
glossier version would be more OEM.
I pulled my trim, sanded smooth w/600 grit
and a quick wipe down with laquer thinner,
and sprayed 3 good wet coats. It dries to a
very thin surface and appears to be extremely
durable.
