Yoko EV-100s are pretty good in my opinion. They're better than a set of new Sumitomo HTR+...
I've got a set of 225/45/17 Toyo on the frount, and 245/40/17 Yokohoma EVS-100 on the rear. The Toyo are a bit loud, soft, but cheap. The Yokohoma are pretty good.
My only qualm is the rears seem to get hot and lose traction quickly, not a problem for you. Rember, I'm dealing with currently 90 degree heat, with the road getting to a bit over 100. If I throw the car around a bit , and use some of that lovely torque, the sickness goes down. The first time I do it, the rear end is stuck like glue. About the 5th time, it starts swinging. Oh well, thats why I bought a rear wheel drivec ar, right? ;-)
The Sumitomo HTR+ sucked majorly. didn't grip well on anything. Were loud, and wore out werid and fast. The Sumiotomo HTRII were pretty good. They seemed to last, were fairly quite, and decent in general, if a bit pricy. Unforchantly, I can't find a 245/40/17 anywhere.

I currently own S-03, AVS Sport, and ES100 on different cars. In the last few years I also owned SP9000, Pilot Z4, XGT Z, 2 more sets of AVS Sport, Yoko A520, BFG Z4 and KDWS, so I have accumulated a fair amount of experience with different tires.
The S-03 is the best performance tire. The AVS Sport gives up a little on the handling but gain on the noise and comfort fronts. The ES100 is better than the SP9000 and Pilot Z4 in both ride and handling, it is also very quiet.
If money is no concern and you don't track your car then I would go with Pilot Sport as it is known to gives a smoother ride but gives up a little on handling.

It's my opinion that Bridgestone's UNI-T construction/compound is the best for my Florida climate -- stickiest in the rain. However, it's been noted that the rubber hardens up/looses stickiness in the colder temperatures. That may preclude it as a viable Canadian option.
