Default From the mouth of a '75 Stingray owner...

So I pull in for gas last night in good ol' Grayslake, IL. I'm driving the Toyota Highlander. Hey, what's that at the pump right in front of me...?

A gorgeous 1975 Corvette Stingray convertible. White with crimson interior. I start up a conversation with the owner. I share with him that I too have an older car and that "they can be a lot of work." He agrees and explains the numerous projects he's done on his vette.

"What year is your vette?" he asks me.

I explain that I don't own a Corvette, but rather a 1984 Porsche 928.

"That's the V8, right?"
"The water-cooled, front-engine one, with the transmission in the back?"

"Yep, that's the one."

"Well, I've loved our Stingray since when my father bought it new. But I gotta tell you, that model of Porsche to me might be the best looking car ever built."

I have to say my happiness was pure in hearing that and it endured all the way until I saw the $58.73 on the pump...

I'm thinking about starting a "I'm thinking about getting a Corvette" thread next.
