Check out FAST...Forced Air Systems Of Texas
or 928 Performance East.FAST say they will have a system for your model year soon.
928 Perf. East is located on Staten Island and may be able to help..I know they specialize in "Early" 928 performance.
Hope this helps.

D,
I'm not sure if Fast ever worked up a Scharger for the early sHARKs or not but they talk a good story on their product.
I think 'ABBY' another member just had one installed or was close to it. In any case bad S4 has you on the right track for some info. http://www.e a s tonline.com

The problem with supercharging a 78 is that darn CIS system. To put it simply if you pressurize the intake upstream of the air sensing plate, IT WILL BE BOTTOMED OUT ALWAYS! making the fuel mixture insanely rich. So if you could get ahold of that 85 euro engine on the classifieds this site you would be way ahead. plus you could still supercharge it LH jetronic.

Joe,
Your exactly right about the CIS fuel injection. I ditched mine in favor of an Electromotive Tec II system and an '85 euro s intake so that I could use a supercharger. Not to mention, I was reaching the upper limits of the CIS with my current engine configuration.

Speaking of 928 Performance East, has anyone ever used him/them for anything? What's the story over there? What kind of operation do they have? Why are they never talked about? Should we be saying "Big Four" rather than "Big Three"?

It is curious isn't it? Found them on a web search a year ago(?) and have heard exactly 0 on them from anybody. I have seen/heard no data, even anecdotal.
Of course, if you visit the (designed by an 8th grader looking) website you will see talk of "trade secret new technology" - which sets my hyperbole/BS detector to the "klaxon of nuclear doom" sound...
Perhaps he is a talented "one man show" who has just not yet been discovered, and as such, builds his motors right and sells them for very little over the parts and labor cost just to get some recognition and build a following.

I just finished Supercharging my 78 928 Euro. The CIS fuel delivery system is perfect for a blow-thru system, I used a Powerdyne blower designed for a 5.0 liter V8 so I know that it supplys the 4.5 Liter without any problems. The fella below that says the CIS system will be bottomed all the time (and therefor rich) is wrong. I did cal F-A-S-T for their parts, but they were very hesitant to break apart their 32 v blower kit to sell me (16v) just the crank pully I need. When they did finally agree to sell me the crank pulley, they wanted $650 for it. I designed my own and took it to a machinest, goit it made from 6061 Aluminum billet for $350. Made my own blower brackets and intake plenum for the air cleaner. My A\C compressor was shot, so I put the blower roughly where the A\C compressor was. I used a Powerdyne blower because it is belt-drived internally - no gear-driven "whine". So far, so good. I am just shaking it out now. The boost gauge I installed shows 3 psi boost at 3,000 RPM, 5 psi at 4,000 RPM. I designed it for 9 psi at 6,000 RPM and I should be right on track. That'll be a little over 1.5 BAR. I am keeping it down so that I don't over-stress intake-valve springs and make a bomb out of my 928... It idles perfectly with no modification at all. The Mr. Gasket engine dyno software that I use says I now have 350 HP and 340 BFP of torque when I feed in all the specs. That's better than an S4! But I don't know... when the snow melts and I get it out of the garage it's going to a real dyno and we'll see.

Carl,
Congradulations on your supercharged CIS 928! If you used a positive displacement blower your plunger would have been bottomed-out all the time; however, a centrifugal blower is another story.
Do you think you could have duplicates of your mounting bracket and pully made. I know I'd be interested in purchasing both items for my 16-valve 928. FAST is a little too pround of their products and R&D.

OK Carl, I asked before (in the Arkansas Shark-down thread) if you could post some info and/or pics of your convertible - no acknowledgement from you, and your email address is blocked to regular users.
So, reply here or face the wrath of a fellow convertible owner with his finger on the button! <img src="graemlins/oops.gif" border="0" alt="[oops]" />

We have been talking with a potential candidate in our local area about supercharging his late model 928. So far to date we have been able to produce great HP gains from the 944 and the 944 S2.
THe 944 was peaked at 222hp ath the rear tires on 93 octane. Up from a stock pull of 125hp at the tires! THe charts are on our website.
The S2 went through a little more tuning today at an independant dyno shop (Dyno Shop, in Santee CA), an laid down a very safe 250 at the rear tires at only 3 psi boost! This was on 92 octane. Up from 170 stock rear wheel hp.
We are eager to start a project with the "Sharks", if your interested, you can call me to work out the details.
We provide in writing, that we will present to you, at the end of the test, your 928 in the same condition (drive line not included, engine is) with the acception of the SC kit as the car was delivered to us.
Take care!!!!

I can't imagine my car with that much horse power! NOT... I dream about it everynight for the last 11 years.
So what is the difference in superchargers "blowthrough".... "positive displacement" Dud if this things works which it looks like you got it nailed. I want one too!
Hmm gonna have to start that "honey do list" now. After all is said and done what is this mod going to run ya? Smile per mile that is.
