I hear there were early cars without passenger mirrors. Does anyone out there own one? I was just wondering what they looked like.

Thanks for asking.

Wow, sounds like you have been busy. I have a 78 that is on the 10 year restore plan. I am going for the simple look. like yours. All I have done so far is a cap/rotor and some fluids. I want to ditch the window tint, new black lug nuts, and clean up the motor real soon.

There is instructions in WSM how to add mirrot mounting point into passenger side door. Very likely many cars which have mirror now got it few years after early cars were made. In few examples I have seen it was fairly easy to say mounting point was installed outside production like. Workmanship wasn't up to factory standards even though nothing abnormal was visible on outside. This can give indication if there should be mirror or not and situation can be corrected for example when car is repainted during restoration.

Erkka,
What is the WSM? I have a suspision that my passanger mirror was added. It does not fold in the same way the driver side one does. Thanks for the info.

djurek,
The pass mirror on my s4 is also mounted differently than on the driver's side. This is noticeable when the mirrors are folded.
I'm guessing porsche did this to optimize the mirror's position from the driver's point of view.
